Next time someone asks me what my favorite sports team is, I'm saying the Lions.

The thread was created before the Stastny news was released.

Unless Joe is retiring...why is he busting his butt to return to this?

Judging from Granatos tone in his conference, I think Joes retiring and he wants his final farewell tour.

I can't think of a shift where McCormick hasn't worked hard either, guys.

I feel bad for the Altitude boys. They have to try to make light of the situation when the score is soon to be 7-0.

Joe only wants one more home game, then he's gone. There is no other reason to to come back this year.

Oh and...

6-0...

I think this is Granatool's last game. Unfortunately, that will mean that the Avs will get a boost from whoever takes over and win a bunch of games.

You really think the team will get a boost with Cloutier as the Coach?

I guess Dave Barr could take over the interim duties for the last eight games or so.

Not much point in firing him now. They'll wait until the end of the season.

You did not read FG's last interview:
Quote:
Giguere said he is more concerned about how the Avalanche plays in its nine remaining games than with his own job security, adding that he would evaluate Granato’s status at the end of the season.

“I don’t think I’m in the position where I want to blame one person,” Giguere said.
TG job is safe until the end of season.

I don't know why he has to wait until the end of season. I am pretty sure he should be able to see it by now how bad coaching TG is doing right now. The team has given up.

I disagree. I think if TG is fired, the new coach has a chance to see who to keep and who to let go at the end of season.
Also, it is a moral victory for the fans. It will be nice to see some wins before putting that big chunk of season ticket holder deposit.

I'd hope they hire a real coach and not a "in the system" guy.

I didn't see the game cause I was at work. Won't ask how the team played, I already saw the score, but how did Wolski play?

What a brutal performance. Both goalies should not be brought back next year. They are terrible.

If Arnason was less of a turd, Galiardi would have had his first point tonight with the nice pass.

I thought Vernace was our best defenceman tonight. Im dead serious. He moves the puck well, doesn't make too many mistakes out there. I think he should make the team next year as either the 6 or 7 dman.
