I think this mission has been a failure. It's still happening.

Maybe it needs to be stickied?

I think it's worked okay, there's still a few threads, but not nearly as many as before.

Definitely the best thing for his development. He wasn't getting much ice time with Brynäs at all.

That's kind of cool, I went to a hockey skating clinic with him a few years ago around when he had just cracked the Q and was definitely not a high profile player. According to the article, before this year, he had 7 goals in 203 QMJHL games. This year, he broke out for 72 points (29G, 49A) with Rimouski. He was definitely a solid skater, sometimes players just need the confidence and the chance to prove they can be extremely efficient players. Good depth signing I'd say!

Thought that was a little odd, to basically announce a signing while the player was still playing his last collegiate game. He didn't say Elkins had signed, just made it pretty clear that he would sign with them.

For sure...isn't it ironic, don't you think.

edit: I sort of feel bad for Caps fans in a weird way. He's going to be that guy that other team's fan bases are going to attack you for once he finally makes it (if he continues on his path). Poor Sabres fans are left defending Kaleta constantly, same with Tootoo in Nashville, same with Burrows in Vancouver, etc. Brad Marchand is likely going to be "that guy" for us Bruins fans in the next year or two. Looking forward to it, should be a good time.

As a guy who's had Sean Avery on his team, trust me, it gets old quick.

I'm just glad Rover doesn't appear to have the off-ice persona of an Avery, at least not yet. Or the insanity of a Downie, for that matter.

Oh brother, it's already started. The pre-emptive Della Rovere "is not like those other guys" posts are already beginning. For the record, not a lot of people knew Avery was such a donkey off the ice when he was coming up through Detroit's system. Like I said, I have a feeling that we Bruin's fans are going to be stuck sticking up for Brad Marchand in the not to distant future. The circle of life.

Hey, we got plenty of practice during the WJCs.
