Flyers sign D David Sloane as an emergency replacement for Ryan Parent. Played last night against the Rangers, looked decent. Didn't notice him a whole lot, which was good. Played 6:44.

Geoff Kinrade did the same for Tampa Bay last night, but neither seems to have signed a professional contract, yet, so I'm holding off on them.

Evan Oberg was added, officially, though.

He'll probably be a really good AHL player, but nothing more. I've seen him play live about 20 times. He's an offensively gifted guy, but I dont think he has next level creativity.

ADD

Paul Postma, defenceman, to Atlanta. Postma, a 7th round pick in 2007, put up 84 points for the Calgary Hitmen of the WHL.

Is this a signal that they are writing him off or a sign that he is being promoted? I don't know much about the Red Wings' goaltending situation but wouldn't it make sense to slot Howard into the number 2 spot behind Osgood? I think Conklin's a free agent this summer so that move would be possible.

He write "Look at the goaltending depth in this system". Not including Howard in that list would pretty much be writing him off.

Ken Holland said/implied that Howard was going to be in the NHL next year. Can't remeber if he said it or implied it but i do know that by the end of the interview it was a sure thing he was in the NHL next year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Larsson beats him out for the job, assuming the Wings don't opt to sign another veteran backup for insurance.

What good CHL/College Defencmen are left? Obviously Gilroy, but are there some other players?

Rob Kwiet of Windsor is a good overager in the OHL that I wouldn't mind the Leafs taking a run at.

He can't sign until the playoffs/mem cup are over.

Windsor is currently playing John Tavares and the London Knights.
