That's terrible logic. And you're a moderator??

I'll take some playoff wins instead. How many does Atlanta have?

zherdev not shooting in the so is odd. although, if i remember, hes looked vary average in shootouts recently.

would love to hear the reason.

simple. 4-1 lead. you cant lose games when you are up 4-1 with 1 period to go.

i cant help but keep thinking that hank should have played tonite. he plays. we win.

girardi should be run out of town . he is the worse player on the team. each goal was personally his fault. there was no one else on the ice tonight. Torts should bench him. put him on waivers . just get rid of the plug.

Rangers will almost certainly be in the playoffs, that's more than you can say for the Thrashers.

Just get in the tournament, that's all you can ask for.

Geez...should've had the 2 points tonight

Still, not the end of the world. I say that we need 92-94 points in order to make the playoffs. I'm not going by calculations, just by what I think.

Well its easy to 2nd guess Torts on the goaltender tonight. Its not back to back, although Henke is likely to play the back to back later in the week. Still.... every point is precious.

It's easy to second guess him on a lot of things.

His lines are WORSE then Renney's, he refuses to use his best forward in the shootout, and his stubbornness is asinine.

Tortorella's style of play only works with elite goaltending. With a world class netminder like Lundqvist it is extremely effective. The championship winning Lightning and playoff missing lightning were nearly the same team, except Khabibulin was gone.

I love Valiquette, but he's not up to the task. When he's in, the game's got to be won quickly, cause it's only a matter of time. Renney's style made him look at lot better than he is.

This is why Torts bullheaded benching of Zherdev in the shootout was not only foolish but downright irresponsible. With Henrik in net, the shootout's your friend; he's arguably the NHLs best shootout goaltender. (Indeed, a truly "system" independent measure of a goalie's value). With Valiquette, it's Russian roulette. Every round we don't score, Vally's store of luck dwindles.

I dunno. I'm not feeling great confidence. We have a real tough schedule from here on out.

the sarcasism is all four goals can't be blamed on Girardi. he didn't play the game by himself as some think. I actually think Staal is very good. just can't always blame Girardi for everything.

How can everyone say Vally was awful? Seriously, either you don't play hockey or you're not a goalie.

Goal number 3 - yes, he should have had.

Goal number 2 - Sick goal, NO keeper was getting that.

Goal number 1 - Nice screen.

Goal number 4 - Defensive FAILURE.

Let's face it...the Rangers - in typical Ranger fashion (regardless of coach) let up.

We had 6 chances to score in the shootout and we went 0/6.

You can't blame Vally.

It was a combination of luck for the Thrashers (Gomez shot hits the tip of Hedberg's stick. Shoe shoots INBETWEEN Hedberg's legs and it bounces away) and the Ranger's defensive failures.
