Wow, did Joel Bouchard just say that he would ask for Tavares and 2 really good dmen for Lecavalier?

What I find strange tonight is that we attack more agressively yet we trap better.

I'm not saying they should go all out and make risky plays all the time, but Kovy, Koivu and the others fire up by their offensive skills. How many dumps-in have we seen in the 1st? Even when outnumbered because of they were changing lines, the Habs kept the puck and tried to create something.
True enough but it took Gainey a few games to realize this himself. We're a better team when we're trying to win 6-5 than trying to win 2-1. When we sit back and get content with ourselves, that's when the other team can pick holes in our defensive scheme. And I don't play pro hockey but I imagine it's really hard to turn the switch back on when you've been sitting on a lead. Sometimes you sit on a 1 or 2 goal lead then when it evaporates, you can't adjust back to freewheeling hockey and you get nervous.

Remember how the Sabres played from 05-07 when they still had Drury, Briere, etc.? That may have exposed their defensive flaws but it got them to two straight conf. finals. The Habs aren't as deep skill-wise as those Sabre teams but we should try that style. If Gainey wanted a safe, defensively sound team, it's his fault for not building one here and yet expecting a team that can win games 2-1 or if our guns are on their best, 6-1. We're not New Jersey who can score when needed and then shut down the opposition the rest of the time.

Ok I get that he's sick. Kovy is too, when he wants to. I mean 23 goals isn't anything to scoff at, but why isn't Andrei playing?

Florida can't hold a lead to save their lives these days. Nothing more I hate than cheering for a team who can't hold a lead because it's more heart-wrenching when your team squanders a good effort. The recent Habs swoon could have been worse if we were deserving of wins or leading throughout some of the losses. The early season Habs games were frustrating but not disheartening or crushing because while we blew leads, we still played well enough to have a lead in the first place. Instead, during the last several defeats we just plain sucked and never got 2 or 3 goal leads. The win over the Thrashers was our first ******* W by 3 or more goals in two full months!

I hate these games. We're playing really well but it's only 1-0. Ramo's playing extremely well.

Our team is looking far more offensively dynamic these days. I like the change-up of set plays.
