TSN & Tampa Penalities

How many games have we watched, this year and last, where the Habs were the team with the 8 penalty calls and our opposition with 1 penalty,AND WE NEVER HEARD MCGUIRE FROM TSN COMMENT ON THE UNFAIR CALLS.....BUT WHEN IT`S THE HABS GETTING THE POWER PLAYS LIKE TONIGHT,ALL OF A SUDDEN IT`S A CRIME !!!! Come on Mcguire give your head a shake. Most of the calls were good calls except one maybe. For a change our guys stayed out of the box........Great game boys !!!

McGuire ruined Habs games on TSN for me
I can't stand him and his "opinions" on the Habs

never though I'd say this, but I'd rather listen to Brunet

Ummm, all they said was the Tampa bench was mad.

Heck, at one point they specifically discussed whether it was fair and flat out said that it was. I believe it was Pierre who said that if you look at the shots on goal, Tampa just wasn't competing. Then Gord Miller asked if the lopsided penalties were justified and McGuire said, "Yes I think they were."

I know it's cool to hate on commentators, but try and get the facts straight.

He has such a hate for the Habs, its really obvious. Screw him, he is just a commentator at TSN. I love how he will always say WE when he talks about the Pens, like he is till there ( not like the stint he made there was that long ).

McGuire never said any such thing about bad penalties.
He repeated the Tampa bench was incensed a couple time, thats all.

It was, if anything he was pro Habs with his interpretation.

But you know, reporting that the Tampa bench is pissed is apparently bias these days.

But how many times did he remind us about the lopsided calls ?....when the Habs get bombarded with penalties they never mention it like they did tonight....I don`t hate McGuire,as i tend to think he knows his hockey.....but that pissed me off.

Once again...

He said unequivocally that the ratio was deserved.

What the hell more do you expect?

McGwire didn't really criticise the calls...just said TB was whining at the refs. Most of the calls were pretty blatant. They got the benefit of the doubt on the Kostopoulos one for sure.

of course he is going to remind us, TB kept taking penalties making it more and more lopsided. Its not like he was saying it wasn't deserved and Montreal should have more calls against them. Is he supposed to ignore it? Not do his job?

He is giving commentary on the game and was actually unbiased.

People are overly sensitive about anything the CBC or TSN says and takes it as hab bashing or biased reporting.

It all boils down to me being frustrated with the Habs being called for a min of 5-6 penalties per game while their opposition gets 1-2 called against.....It was refreshing to finally get some breaks......and once again both tsn guys mentioned SEVERAL times(close to 10 i`m sure) that the habs have had 8 power plays and Tampa 1.And when the shoe is on the other foot we don`t hear about it !!!!!!!!!!

What games are you watching??? When the Habs are in a playoff hunt the calls on the opposition are outrageous. While watching games on CI and going to Habs games from time to time, I'm appauled at the times I switch when their on the PP.

McGuire gets mightily redundant but he was ice level and relaying what he was hearing. Incessant *****ing and moaning from the TB bench. He wasn't in on it.

Pierre McGuire is a Habs fan, believe it or not.

That's what makes his negative commentary on the team so intriguing. He is like many people here but with a bit more credentials: an armchair quarterback attacking his favourite team at every angle because he cannot just sit back and enjoy.

At least at his job, he is supposed to be unbiased. Not that it ever happens.

People are way too busy jumping to conclusions instead of doing that...

As for the penalties, Tampa was chasing Montreal all over the ice and that's what happens. I think it was well deserved.

I detest McGuire, but I didn't get this impression from him at all. McGuire just stated the obvious and relayed some info from ice level.

I didnt think McGuire was that bad until tonight. He seemed to be obsessed with Tampa, Tochhet, St. Louis, list goes on.
