Different stick lenghs from on-line retailers

I have searched and nearly all stick length threads quickly turn to pecker jokes or about the preferred length of a stick. My question is how do you determine the length of the stick sold by online retailers? When I shop in a local pro shop it seems that all the sticks are different lengths. I play D and like a longer stick and worry if I order a stick it will arrive too short from the mfg.

It seems some on-line shops list the length but others donít. Why the heck would they not list this?

Also, with the different blade patterns available, do they also dictate the length of the stick? For example, would a Bauer Vapor x:40 stick be different lengths between the Sakic, Lidstrom, etc models?

Thanks!

No, the blade pattern doesn't matter in stick lenght. If the shop doesn't list stick lenghts, you can check them from manufacturers sites.

Check with the manufacturer. They are the ones that determine stick length, not the individual retailer.

Stick length is measured from the heel of the blade to the butt end, so the pattern shouldn't matter, but if you have a shorter blade pattern and stand it up on the toe to measure height, it will be different. In that case, I put the bottom of the blade flat on the ground like if I were playing and line it up with my game stick and check out the butt end.

You can always add plugs too to make them longer.
