Wojtek Wolski

What would the Avalanche want for him?

To COL:

Jaroslav Halak or Carey Price
Max Pacioretty and/or Ryan McDonagh

To MTL:

Wojtek Wolski
Peter Budaj

I guess they'd want a young goalie who's good and another young player.

Avs will have to pay someone to take Budaj.

Lol yeah especially with his 800k contract expiring at the end of this season, the Avs are completely stuck with this guy forever.

Please teach me more about hockey.

You don't seem to know much yourself. Why would anyone trade quality assets for an unsigned player who is one of the worst goalies in the NHL? That's what I thought. Might as well try for a bag of pucks instead.

DONE DEAL

I dont know how any Avs fan could say no to this. I can see how a Habs fan might say no, but every Avs fan would/should be jumping for joy if this happened. Price/Halak might be struggling right now but would be a huge upgrade for the Avs.

I'd do Price for Wolski + Budaj. Don't even need to throw us a prospect.

My thoughts exactly. But as you said before since the prospect was already offered, No take backs.

I would too, Im just saying that Halak and a prospect probably wouldn't do it for me.

Price is the kicker in this deal.

As a 2nd liner, I say Wolski is worth a 2nd round pick. He didn't impress me when given top line minutes when Statsny was out and I think 50-60 points will be his offensive ceiling.

A good trade with Montreal would be a straight swap for Chris Higgins - one offensive disappointment for another.

Considering the centerpiece of the deal would be Wojtek Wolski, wtf is the big deal?

Say what?

Wolski isn't an offensive disappointment. He's 23 with 143 points in 233 games. He has had a bad year, but it's been a bad year in Colorado. He's still likely a top line player, with great size and skill. I wouldn't trade him for useless junk like Higgins; particularly since Higgins is a UFA going to the Islanders anyway.

The original deal rips the Habs off; regardless of which prospect is offered, if Price is the goalie in the deal. Of course, I agree with most Avs posters that he's the only one I'm interested in.

Price and McDonagh would be a steal for the mountainous folk; but sign me up if it's offered.

My response was in direct relation to YOUR statement that the Avs would need to 'pay someone' to take Budaj when in reality he's an RFA in the last year of his contract who may not even be qualified and could very well become a UFA on July 1st. It had nothing to do with the original trade proposal.

Personally, I would expect more in a proposal from a pre-pebuscent trailerpark dweller from southern Georgia. Perhaps that is a mistake on my part.

Wojtek Wolski is a dead set gun, I'd give up a lot for him.

You do that.

Counter offer. Higgins and a 2nd and David Fischer for Paul Stastny.

I'm surprised Habs fans haven't torn this proposal to shreds.

Habs get ripped a new one.

No thanks.

For the record; I don't believe it was an Avs fan who made the proposal to start with.

And even if it was, most Avs fans in this thread have admitted they think it's lopsided in FAVOUR of us.

Statsny btw is untouchable.

Price AND MAXPAC? no friggin way...

Again...the habs don't need wingers AT ALL. Start with a big top 6 center and we'll talk trades. No trade proposals involving wingers.

Sigh.

If you're going to complain, do it to the person who made the thread. Not the Avs fans who acknowledged that this trade doesn't make sense for MTRL

At least Avs fans are classy enough to admit this trade is in our favor. We won't pull the, "omg the value is fair but neither teams do this because it doesn't fit our team." See Paul Stastny for Plekanec+Higgins trade.
