United Center is strange. To me, it seems like the lights start out dim and gradually get brighter as the period progresses. Don't ask me why.

HP Pavilion in San Jose. Always looks like **** on TV for some reason, similar to MSG actually. I don't know what it's like in person, though.

Filthy?
Have you even been there?
I'll admit it does look dark on t.v. though.
Wierd, cause its really bright when your actually at the game. Guess the Lightening need to spend more on the cameras next season.

Great thread. I voted MSG but I think that Nassau is like 1b.

Nassau always stood out as having bad lighting in the highlights

Yep, that I have. For a professional sports arena, it is one dirty place.

It's pretty nice in person. It reminds me of the Palace in Auburn Hills.
The only other NHL arena I've been in, is JLA, and I just hate it anymore.
However, it is about 30 years old, and owned by the city. But it just doesn't compare to newer arenas, in terms of suite locations, LED/LCD displays, concourse width, sound system, etc.

Agreed, and I'm not a fan of the camera angles.

Yeah, your superior Canadian eyes must just be picking up on all that undeserving Southern atmosphere and it mucks up your view of the ice.
I actually just pointed out to my wife how bad MSG games look on TV. Just depressing to watch.

Nassau Coliseum, and it isn't even close... How did it not even make the poll?

The game is always darker and has a yellowish tint. Can't stand when the Thrashers play at MSG.

It's because it's basically spot lit.
It looks fantastic in person. One of the best. Does not translate to TV though.

I voted United Center but the more I think about it, it's probably MSG.

Never really thought about lighting in arenas before, but now that you mention it, I've always thought there was something weird about MSG. Maybe it's the lighting, maybe not.
