New Shane Doan McFarlane figure/statue

No pics yet, don't get excited!
FALL 2009 SPORTS ACTION FIGURE RELEASE DATE SCHEDULE

It looks like Doan is going to get a regular sized McFarlane statue (as opposed to the 3" figure they made of him a few years back. This series is set for August 2009!

Looks like there's going to be a Winnipeg Jets variant too. For those Winnipeg fans, it looks like there's also going to be a second Selanne figure released this December with a Jets variant as well!

I love the McFarlane statues, and am glad to get a current Coyote on my desk!

Finally! You think it would have happened sooner with the McFarlane store in Westgate and Todd himself around all the time.

McFarlane may LIVE here but I don't think he's a Coyotes fan.

Glad to see they finally responded to the avalanche of suggestion forms I filled out, though.

I'm positive he isn't, but the store is there and he does do things with the franchise.

Oh yeah, no question of that. I've even seen him at games. Problem is, he's always wearing another team's sweater...

Now that they're doing Doan, I really hope they do that Hawerchuk figure I asked for.

I believe Todd is still a minority owner of the Oilers. He designed the old Oilers third jersey, the one with the giant sprocket. He also is a fan of Canadians, evidenced by the player/team selection of his hockey figures.

If you were basing it purely on that, then he'd be a Leafs fan. Jason Blake and Darcy Tucker figures, seriously?

Hockey fans will buy them. There's a few Yotes fans wearing Vrbata jerseys...might be one or two Landon Wilson jerseys around.

Just basing it on a few short conversations with him. By no means am I saying we're buddies. He doesn't know me from anyone else. He does live in the valley and frequents certain places. Usually he's very standoffish but sometimes you can get him to talk. He's really not comfortable with his fame. Don't know what he expected when he was trying to be great at comic book art but not expecting to be known. Anyways, that was about 10 years ago. He very well could have changed since then. Don't know since I'm stationed in Texas now and we're not best-friends.

I'd love to add it to my Cujo figure and my Mini retro Doan Figure collection. I also have an awesome Brandon Webb Cy Young McFarlane as well.

There was an awesome interview he did on some business station a few months back about his company and how he has intentionally kept it smaller and how he initially carved out his niche. Great work all around.

He's not an owner anymore. He sold his share to Katz along with all the rest of the Edmonton Investors Group last summer.

Thanks for the update. I hadn't heard that. I guess that gives him more time to make more Coyotes figures.

Didnt he have a hand in the new Coyotes logo?

I've never heard of McFarlane having any role in the third jersey logos.

What, Balsillie didn't get the Hamilton logos and colors to McFarlane quickly enough for production?

He used to be a minority owner of the Oilers and created the old Oilers 3rd jersey.
