He can score 20 goals int he playoffs, and lead us to the Cup.

Unless he takes a huge discount, I don't want him here next season.

I don't know about this one. Kovalev's play might be frustrating and nail-biting, yes he may seem selfish on occasional plays and yes he did take stupid penalties while trailing with less than two minutes to go.

But he's pretty much the only talent the habs have. His puck handling is beyond par, he does score crucial game winning goals every now and then.

I personally can't see him in another jersey.

Time to move on, I think the attitude he brings is the wrong one and since he is a veteran his attitude trickles down. If we have to sign him we should get a bargain basement contract for him. 2.5million at most.

I would like him back on a one-year deal. And that's it. I think that's what Kovy has left in the tank. I can see him doing well next year.

Unfortunately, Kovy will want more than a year so, if that happens, I say let him leave.

If he wants to be back at no more than 3.5 million playing second line minutes, i'd have no problem having him back. Anything more than that its time to move on even if that means a youth movement.

It depends on who we could acquire to replace him. We just can't let go our forward with the most points if we do not replace him... And apprently, there won't be a lot of good UFA's available this summer (though, that's what I read, I didn't see a list...). So, keeping him might just be the best idea...

Half of me says this team can move forward better without him

The other half says I'm gonna miss him more than any other player (bar Koivu) if he walks

Will the sun rise tomorrow morning?

Do we need money to live in our society?

Is there water in the ocean?

Will there be snow in Canada next winter?

Will a child be born in the world today?

Are you saying that if he scored 20 goals, won the Conn Smythe and we won the Stanley Cup, you wouldn't sign him for under $4.5M?

Could you please step back for one second and re-think about what is important in hockey please?

Keep him ,but walking into 2009-2010 season he can't still be our go to guy. We need a legit number 1 center so one of Koivu and Plekanec will have to walk.

Its not going to be so easy to replace him.

Obviously the UFA priorities are Komisarek and Tanguay...Bob should be working on locking these two up right after we are eliminated.

After that, i think we need to take another serious run at LeCavalier. It may be fantasy land stuff, but if there is an opening we need to seriously look at it. If we can land him, then its safe to say that Kovalev, and likely Koivu are let go.

Any one of Hossa, Gaborik, Sedin, Havlat would be an enormous upgrade.

and 100% of your Kovalev posts. The rest of your posts are quite intelligent, but when it comes to AK27 , you get all weird.

Saying that, I would sign him to 3.0 plus bonus money of 1.5.
