Attempting to predict the Eastern Matchups

A few questions : 1 can Montreal catch Pitts even if they win out and if we do tie Carolina we would get the lower seed due to less wins correct?

If Montreal wins out and Pittsburgh gets 1 point they would tie. Not sure who the tiebreaker goes to.

We would take the lower seed because Carolina has an extra win.

If Montreal wins out and Pittsburgh gets one point, Montreal will finish ahead of the Penguins due to more wins in their head-to-head. They still face each other one more time, but Montreal leads the season series 2-1.

Phishy is correct about Carolina/Philadelphia. Should they finish tied on points, Carolina will finish ahead due to more wins.

4-8 seeding in the East is still wide open. There's even a remote possibility that the Flyers can overtake the Devils as the third seed. Speculating on match-ups at this point is an exercise in futility.
