2011 NHL Draft, list of eligble players

- I've been doing some "scouting" from my armchair and came up with 52 names to start up the list. The list is by no means inclusive and I'm just trying to get a better picture of this draft class.
- I've been careful with ranking these prospects, so that I won't step on anyones toes. The players that I have actually ranked, I feel having a genuine chance of being drafted in the first round. Most of them have also proven that they can play on a higher level of competition.
- If you think that there's a player that should be ranked as a potential first rounder, please be informative and tell something about the player. Has he already proven that he's a top prospect?
- If you want me to add players to the list, please include their details like position, date of birth, height, weight, team, nationality, league they are playing in and possible stats, so that it will be easier for me to make updates, when I have the time and the motivation to do so.
- If you have any insights on these prospects, please share them with us. If you know a bunch of 2011 draft prospects, some rankings would be interesting as well.

Brandon Saad played for the Mahoning Valley Phantoms in the NAHL (the same junior league the USNTDP has played in). He had 29 goals and 18 assists 47 games.

Shane McColgan and Colin Jacobs are both Americans.

As is Landeskog(6'0 198).

Though they both are not Dan Pettersson in terms of size.)))

At this point it's possible to do maybe TOP 10 but nothing more.

Great stuff Tormentor. Even though the draft class is still more than two years away, there are already some names emerging.

As an Attack fan, I can't help but feel excited about where Cutting is going to be in two years time. He overcame a broken leg in his draft year to make the team out of camp. Hopefully he can avoid what happened to his defense partner in Micheal D'Orazio and progress into a top pairing OHL defenseman. He's got a good two way game, a good enough first pass, can throw his body around but is still uneasy going into corners at times. Is good in his own zone and should get some more offensive opportunities next season.

He's still a little on the small side at probably under 170 lbs at this point, but he's got room to grow. He should be a Top 60 talent at this point and I could see him hovering around the 1st Round, maybe higher, depending on how he develops. It's always hard to project underage defensemen in the OHL because they don't get a lot of ice, but he got a fairly consistent shift this season and didn't look out of place, so that has to be encouraging.

Some Finns to be added (I haven't check their birthdate, only that they are 93'ers): Markus Granlund (younger brother of Mikael), Miro Aaltonen, Sami Salminen and Santeri Arousva.

EDIT: You seem to have lot more time to sit around the computer, so I hope you can check the sizes etc. for these...

I was thinking the exact same thing.

St. Croix is going to be fun to watch here in Edmonton for the next few years. He looks like a player.

I'm going for Namestnikov as far as now. 1992 born thus almost one year older, plays with bigger boys, etc. And also I'd place Yakupov and Khokhloachev higher than him, but we will see.
Surely we do have a couple of awesome classes with 2010 and 2011
