They can get a medal. It's a strong team, but not a forerunner for the gold.

They can be a team that is tough to play against. A couple more possible players: Stasny, Cole, Gleason, Ballard, Malone, Brown. They are loaded with grit.I'd say a medal contender

No reason why they can't get a medal. I mean other than teams playing better than them in the tournament. But they definitely have a good enough team to win it. I didn't vote the 'miracle' option because I think it's underestimating the US team. If they won gold it wouldn't be the biggest upset ever and it wouldn't take a miracle for them to win it all. They have a good team and will be tough to beat.

Take a look at the teams Russia and Canada will be icing and then tell me it won't take a miracle for the USA to win. Can't forget the last finalists in Sweden and Finland either. I'd be shocked if the Americans won with that team. Does that look like an Olympic Champion squad to you? Doesn't to me, but stranger things have happened.

as i see it both sweden [forsberg is out, sundin's too old, zetterbergs back is not reliable] and finland [mikko koivu can't do it all by himself] is weaker than the teams in 2006

It wouldn't take a miracle. They have a lot of talent on their squad. Maybe it's not as high as some of the other countries. But they're still really good players capable of beating any team at any time. This is why we play the games on the ice and not on paper. I'm not saying that they are favourites or anything but I don't anyone should be jumping off of buildings if they win the gold.

They have a realistic shot but,on paper there are quite a few times that look better.

However, anything can happen in a short tournament

Bad poll. Where's the "They can win" option? They obviously aren't favorites, but it wouldn't take a miracle for the Americans to take gold. Just a couple of upsets/meltdowns.

What can they do? They could get gold. I wouldn't expect them too, but it's a talented team, and stranger things have happened.

This is a ********* poll. Miracle situation? It wouldn't be a miracle if they won. It is certainly possible that they just may.

i admit it isn't perhaps the right word. but look at that defense, it's close to poor. what would that defense do with a ovechkin-malkin going clap, clap, speeeed, schwooosh, pang! ? ... or with a sedin-sedin-zetterberg going trip, trip, drop, clap, clap, schwooosh, pass, pass [perhaps another more pass here, come on it's the sedins] and a goal ? ... or with a nash-crosby-iginla going bonk, pass, shot, and a goal ?

i would like to know

Bobby Ryan might have a very real chance of making the team as well.

The US is certainly not the favorite to win the Gold, but they are a good team that can do some damage.

I dont think they have near the type of talent that they need to get passed Russia, Canada, Sweden, or even the Czech's. They are 5th amongst those teams. I would say its a tossup for Gold between Russia and Canada. I would like to be the optimist and say that Russia wins Gold, and its also a tossup for Bronze between Sweden and Czech Republic. Its a tough call. They have the grit, but grit can only get you so far.

You know, you're right! I've never seen or played hockey before in my life. What am I doing on this forum? Where is the High School Musical forum? Where am I? How do I use this? This isn't the oven...

Seriously though, those 'plays' are pretty retarded and just sounds like a 2 year old banging around on some pots and pans.
