Montoya conditional pick?

With Al playing a handful of games now does anyone know what the 2009 conditional pick is/was, and if he has met any conditons to trigger this pick?

Not sure what the specifics were, but I highly doubt the conditions were met. He's only played 5 games.

I saw the game he got his first shut out in his first start. We better get something decent. What else is "owed" to us? Don't we get something for Jessiman or did we just give him away?

The Rangers have the 5th round pick

If the Rangers did not re-sign LeNeveu OR Montoya played 15 games for Phoenix this season, the Rangers receive the pick

LeNeveu was not re-signed.

New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has traded forward Ryan Hollweg to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for Pittsburgh's fifth round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. New York now has a total of eight draft picks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft after previously acquiring Phoenix's fifth round pick (along with David LeNeveu, Fredrik Sjostrom and Josh Gratton for Al Montoya and Marcel Hossa).

Hmm, that looks like 9 picks to me. Guess they counted wrong

And we still have 9 due to the comp pick for Chere.

That is awesome. As much as i would rather have Cherry alive than a comp pick, this is very good news for a team who is not only developing NHL players through recent drafts/FA (Cally, Dubi, Staal, Korp, Henrik, Girardi), mainting/adding draft picks and stockpiling blue chip prospects (Grachev, DZ, Anisimov, Sangs), but they are doing it while reeling off 4 straight playoff seasons of 90-plus points.

Man, if we could get that cap situation fixed.

wow, montoya had a great 5 games for phoenix. hopefully he turns into the player everyone thought he would be. not like he would have a chance here since we have henke. but for the future of our national team.

Be careful of how young players perform when the pressure is off and the teams they are playing are playing for nothing.

September call-ups in baseball.

He beat Colorado which is the worst team in the NHL. Split with LA(got shelled in LA). Beat a SJ team which isn't the same SJ from earlier this season. They have been a slightly above average hockey team for the last 6 weeks and are bound for more playoff failure in a few weeks.

NHL wins and shutouts are NHL wins and shutouts IMO. Glad to see Al playing so well.

He is still a young goalie, better to be brought along slowly then to be thrown into a pressure-packed race.
