That's great. I'm glad he's considered the 2nd best defensive dman, in his case it's a total succes because of some people that say that his defensive play sucks badly.

They should do this kind of stuff in the NHL.

PK has improved tremendously in all areas of his game. He's not the same player that he was when he was drafted and was mainly an offensive d-man.

I'm really excited about this prospect. I love his upbeat attitude too and he's a passionate player. A lot of our key guys are too quiet and stoic. We need some personality and passion and Subban brings those intangibles as well.

What the hell Timmins did by passing over Grachev (again, an other big center)...

Maybe Timmins is jealous because he's a dwarf himself.

Wow hardest shot, ahead of Hodgson!

And only slightly behind Duchene for playmaker. No surprise he's best ODman but I am surprised he's second best defensive Dman. He's gunna be one hell of a player.

The best defensive D man award is probably hype related (The way he stands out gets him noticed more for all aspects of his play) but it does show he's not a liability in the backend.

I unfortunately didn't get to see Subban play much over the years. How physical is he? He's got decent size at 6"/200lb considering his age but is it part of his game?

It's not his primary asset because he's such an intelligent player, he does way more that just be physical, but when the situation calls for it PK is no coward.

Our closest pick to Grachev (Third round) was our picking of Danny Kristo in the second round. 19 picks above ours. There were a lot of other guys at the time better to choose than him, Kristo being one. Kirill Petrov another.

Or are you saying its fail Gainey for not moving up the Qualier pick to get Grachev? Of course, Qualier is a vastly improving 6'3" Right winger who has top breakaway speed, is strong and goes straight to the net with the best in the USHL. He too loves hanging around the net to pick up garbage goals and screen but... yeah... boo Timmins?

I was really high on gratchev and it woulda been a solid pick in 2nd round as well. Different player then Kristo for sure, but I love what both brings. Gratchev is freakin amszing tho.

I don't agree. Grachev was a centerman who was already seen as having the greatest of ceiling and it shows. Only reason why he fell that much was because of where he's coming from. So hockeywise, he was not further from Kristo. On the contrary, Kristo was and is still perceived as a 3rd liner while Grachev is certainly top 6 material something we lack of compared to the bottom 6, something we have too many of. Though, Kristo might have what it takes to be more than that. But hockey sense is still questioned and that can't be good while Grachev was dominating at the Worlds and some nights are just way too good for the OHL. And for the record, I had Grachev in my wishlist.

And since he didn't hesitate too much before coming, I guess there was a way to conduct interviews with him in order to know his intentions.

As far as trading the Quailer pick to move up, well if it would have been possible, I still can tell you that we would prefer the Grachev pick a whole lot more. But that's pure speculation since you just can't move just because you want to. But you could have pick somebody else than another smallish winger. And you know what....despite having placed him on my ND list at least for the 1st and 2nd rounds 'cause of how desperately lazy he looked when I was watching him, maybe a better 3rd rounder would have been.....Mikhail Stefanovich. Okay that may be in hindsight, 'cause I remember hating him but a 3rd rounder on him would have been a great bet because of, again, the upside he could have. And clearly, he's showing it this year.

I like Quailer though. But as tall as he is, he definately need to get bigger and definately need to become tougher and meaner 'cause at this point, but it will probably improve, he sometimes look like Eric Dazé.

PK is playing a better all around game because the Bulls require it from him. He has been needed to carry a bigger role defensively in my opinion

His O game has become more refined than making spin moves at the point, which is why I think he also got the playmaker nod from the rest of the Eastern coaches

We're getting a better player than we drafted I think
