Nah, you can keep Witt. We're fine with our first.

Pittsburgh wouldn't do it.

It's not just about player value and all of that. It's also important to remember we haven't had a first round pick in a while (counting the fact that Espo was traded). It's important the organization doesn't fall into the habit of depleting it's prospect pool every season.

I wish that trade were a possability. Too much for Pit to give up.

I think more realistic trades would be:

Witt + NYI 4th Pick for Pit 2nd + 3rd picks.
-or-
Witt + SJ 1st for Pit 1st + 2nd picks.

Even these might not be that enticing. How is Pitt on their cap? Would it make fiscal sense for them to pick up Witt, without a salary dump?

First you suggest trading Hunter for a pick, now trading Witt for a pick.

Guess you want to ice an AHL team next fall.

Guess you liked the results of last night's game vs. Carolina.

Would be fun to be an NHL GM if one had no accountabilty for measurable, on-ice progress.

I'd consider this, just because I like the way Witt plays, but I probably wouldn't go through with it in the end.

How about Alex Grant and a 2nd for Witt?

I'm the biggest "go with youth" guy in the world. However, even I see the folly of throwing all the vet overboard. Rebuild, yes, but you want guys like Hunter and Witt around to teach the kids.

Tight on the cap of course but i dont think it would be a problem. Witt's cap number is only a little above the number for pending UFA Gill.

$5.75 mill to Scuderi, Gill & Boucher vs $5.75 mill to Witt, Scuderi & Goligoski seems like a lot better value for money even factoring in a significant raise for Scuderi***.

*** i guessed $2 mill per year for Scuderi but considering some of the UFA deals given to Dmen last summer that might be a little low.

I swear we have seen this deal already...or some other variation that included Witt and Pittsburgh's first.

When will they no longer be kids? Christ man, most of them of 2+ whole seasons under their belt. This isn't prep school with a jack donaghy mentor program.

Pittsburgh's biggest holes are on the wing, not on d, and that's where the money should be allotted. I wouldn't want the Pens to sign Witt for that sort of money if he were a UFA, let alone give up assets for him.

Honestly, people are wanting the Pens to give up the likes of Crosby due to the cap just so they can make room for Witt?

**** that. Fortunately, Shero's not a tard.
