The PP Solution

Our D is screwed... we have to figure out a way to keep our PP going

Our PP is right now the most important thing that we must get right.

I propose

Latendresse - Koivu - Kovalev

Tanguay - Weber

2nd wave

Latendresse Plekanec Higgins

Weber will get the call up tomorrow morning and he will have to be our point man.

I think short term, as in the next 2-3 games, I think they're fine, especially if they can pull a win out tonight and maybe get a pt in NY tomorrow.

But after that, Gainey ought to serious consider recalling a guy like Weber as it's obvious the Habs PP needs the threat of a shot. Furthermore, this team feeds off the PP...even if strictly in a PP role as 7th dman

it's going to be interesting to see how all this plays out

I hope so. Awfuly stupid decision by Bob in a crucial game to not have called him up.

The solution is for Markov to come back (and step it up more than he did in last years playoffs). Schneider is a lost cause, he's as injury prone as they get.

Weber and or Carle should have been called up already and got 3 games of experience before the playoffs. Nope we haven't called them up and our PP is atrocious. Good luck Bob, I have no idea how you plan to pull this one off with out some PP defenceman.

I still can't believe he put Laraque on there.

Unbelievable.

And I thought Carbo putting Metropolit on a 5 on 3 in ATL was bad.

Use Lapierre if you want a RH shot. Use Latendresse if you want a big body. You can keep Kovalev at forward and use 2 D's. What the **** were you thinking Bob?

If this collapse out of the playoffs that I am more and more concerned will happen ends up happening, that blown 5 on 3 will be viewed as the turning point.

Latendresse is a big body who would do well with Koivu and Kovalev the way those two are going, and Tanguay is still present, his vision is so good.

We will miss Markov but we can atleast replace his point presence in a way with tanguay, we then need a shot from the Point (void by Schneider) and Weber has that shot I believe it.

I wouldn't be comfortable with a forward and an unexperienced defenseman on the point. The risk of giving up shorthanded goals would be too great IMO.

when Dougie was called up Markov was only day to day. When it was found out how serious Markov's injury was it was too late to recall Weber.

On 5-on-3's definitely, but I think Bob will pair him with Breezer on the 1st unit. Second unit I could see Hammer and a forward, Andrei if he comes back, or Sergei once he's back, he was on the point before and is better than most of the guys we have doing the job now.

And I know it's just a period, but Janik is looking pretty good tonight.

Kovalev plays 2 minutes.

Tanguay on the point could be a short term solution aswell.

One of our best shooter needs to play: A. Kostitsyn

So it should go like

Kostitsyn-Koivu-Kovalev
Tanguay-Brisebois

Latendresse-Plekanec-Kovalev (Fatendresse in front of the goalie)
Hammer-Gorges

Well, many years ago, Jacques Lemaire was using Kent Carlson in front of the net and Mats Naslund on the point. A big body in front of the net ... we don't have to many options. But, big George is slow as hell!!!

Awful, every team knows Tanguay is looking for the pass so the PP would be predictable on the backend.

PP

Give Metro some PP time..at least his line scored at the end of a PP and was the only line +1.

I think breezer and weber at the point will be fine. Breezer has good vision and he is capable of setting weber up for one of his blasts. I'm not comfortable with putting a forward back there and breezer is the next best d-man on the roster in terms of vision.
