Things that should NEVER be again

#1- O`Byrne should never see the ice again unless it`s with another team..As long as there`s no pressure he`s not bad,but when the pressure is on he a dumb dumb...I know he`s young but this is his sceond year of being around the team .pretty bad when Janik is called up for his first game and looks much better than O`Byrne.
#2- Laraque and Stewart should not be playing at the same time. That 4th line was scarry last night giving up the puck WAY TOO MUCH.
#3-The Habs should never let the other team see them holding up from going into the corners because they are scared of getting hit.....ESPECIALLY AGAINST THE SENS !!! We get beat around by the Sens so whats gonna happen when we play the Bruins ?????
It`s not over yet but they gotta play like they did Sat nite against the Dirty Leafs id we`re gonna make it in.

It was Janik's first game with the Habs, but he has played almost 100 extra NHL games with the Sabres, Bolts and Stars than O'B. The guy is a veteran. Not a huge surprise he looked better than O'Byrne IMO.

And some people want to see Weber/Carle called up at this time of year with each game as crucial as it is. God help them when they make their first mistakes in a Montreal jersey, especially if it is within the next few games or the playoffs.

OByrne made 2 dumb mistakes but as for his game on the ice, he played well. Janik wasnt too bad either, he made one mistake at the end that was costly though. Like ive said in another thread we only gave up 23 shots and few scoring chances to the Sens. We need more offense and the Kosty bros are more than welcome to come back.

O'Byrne did not look good.

I think he deserved his penalties but some nights they may not get called, especially the hook on Neil.

I'm ok with the 4th line... they had some effective shifts.

How did he not look good? Dont mix dumb penalties with what he did on the ice. He played fine.

He looked flat-footed to me... Sens players beat him wide often and he was reeling. I remember another play, late in the game, where he was lucky he didn't take a penalty. A Sens forward skated right by him and he broke his own stick with his slash... He had trouble like that all night.

It's rust, not reacting immediately. There is no time for the club to wait for him to get up to speed...

If he's in tonight, he'll have to committ to make a play and react earlier. It's got to be hard for him. It seems as though the first thing on his mind is, 'Don't make a mistake'... so he's gun shy.

Lots of pression for an unexperienced guy like OB.

It's half his fault, half his destiny..

(That hook penalty was stupid tho.. didn't see it clearly don;t know if it was a good call)

Maybe O'Byrne should concentrate on a career as a purse snatcher. If he could just improve his foot speed he might be able to elude the police in the future.

IMO you're right about #1 and #3. I'd say give #2 a bit more of a chance then that though.

Also you need to keep in mind, not only did we lose our 2 offensive D but it's likely the habs didn't want to blow all their energy against a meaningless team like Ottawa when they can play their best and use all their energy against the NYR and ruin their season while clinching at the same time.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the OTT game just yet. O'Byrne should never see ice time as a hab again tho imo. He was the most brutal I've seen him yet. Maybe in 5 years I'll be slapping myself cause he's the next Komisarek or something, but I doubt it. We have other D that have far more potential like Carle, Weber, Subban, all coming up eventually, and I'd say especially now with Markovs injury and Schneider being a bit of a question mark, now is more the time then ever to bring up one of those guys, not Janik, not O'Byrne, but one of those guys.

At best, O'Byrne could become Komisarek of this year.

Neil really exaggerrated the hook. Should've been a dive call.

He skated right into the guys' stick and then did a triple spin/fall as soon as he touched it, cmon.

Thats what i think also. People are so mad at him for the stupid penalties that they forget that he actually wasnt bad at all. However, i would prefer Dandy on defense.

1- Gainey should not coach like Carbo !

2- O'Byrne: OUT

3- Dandy on D

4- A.Kost : in the line up

5- No BGL during PP

6- Use Latendresse for godsake... !!! ON PP

7- Plekanec on the 4th line at best !

My line up

Tanguay-Koivu-Kovalev

Latendresse-Lapierre-A.Kost (need some 2nd line offense)

Higgins-Metropolit-Kostopoulos (a real shut down line)

Stewart-Plekanec-Laraque (no more than 5-7 minutes, please)

Gorges-Komisarek

Hamrlik-Dandenault

Janik (???)- Brisebois

Price or Halak

I like your lineup... Maybe Sergei for Stewart or D'Ago for Laraque.

You need big guys against NY who got Orr, Avery, and a couple more toughies.

S.K and D'Ags are pretty useless if you don't play them some significant minutes.

Habs just need three good lines + Stewart and Laraque just in case.

I agree with pretty much everything but not about Plekanec, he's struggling really bad right now but remember the nice stretch he had like a month ago ? He was on fire, even if he's not producing he's trying really hard and he's not a liability defensively. Swap him and Glen in your line-up and it's a deal.

Plekanec is really going nowhere since 2 weeks at least. I would give him PK minutes for sure with Higgins or Kosto, but not much more for the time being.

And the time being is : MAKE THE PLAYOFFS NOW !

One of the two should be good enough... Orr's tough, but Avery?
