Can The Flyers Sweep the Maple Leafs?

I don't think that it's possible. They will be so motivated to catch us with our key guys hurt, especially now with Recchi likely out, that I can't see a sweep. That's just way too much to ask. I would love nothing more than to wipe the ice with the Laffs, but it just seems too sweet a slice of pie to be realistically achievable. Every run comes to an end and I think Thursday the run is over. Until the POs.

I think we'll win, to be honest with you.

They've been able to win with injuries all year, so there is no reason to think they couldn't on Thursday.

The Leafs are streaky. Luckily they appear to be cold, so anything is possible.

The Flyers match up very well with the Leafs. Recchi or not they'll win tomorrow night- still pissed about tying Pittsburgh. Ron Francis and Brian Leetch just take time away from younger players and were weak moves at best.

Oh yeah- and Esche is very hot right now. I can see Eddie breaking his stick on the goal again.

Leaf troller for i.d. purposes.

Yeah, you can sweep us if we continue to play as poorly defensively as we have. Belfour has been outstanding and could steal one if we let him. I hope you play Burke because that is our best chance.

I hope at least we can be more competitive; thus far this year we haven't belonged on same ice as you guys. It's the truth, and as I despise Boooby Clarke, it is hard for me to say.

Anyway, my main hope for tomorrow is that nobody get hurt and miss the playoffs and hope we see you there. Too bad Berezin is no longer here and that Beezer is no longer there. That was a great series.

Can't wish you luck. Sorry. Be merciful, please.

Question: Why are you acting like a Flyers fan when you wrote this on the Leafs board: "I think we could do well especially if Recchi is injured and the other guys too of course. I think Esche is really good. It would be great to get one on them to get the monkey off the back before we mite meet in the POs. I think maybe Mogilny could be a superstar in this one. I have been watching the Flyers and their D is awful if you can get it down low. They go into a defensive/PK style of play then and that lets teams pingpong it around. It's kinda funny."

Well, it looks like your best chance just went right out the window. Esche is net tonight.

Terrible news for the Flyers....

I got tickets to the game. This means we are certain to lose.

Esche has stolen some points for us latley, hope he doesn't have to tonight! The D has to pick it up a little, they look "lazy" at best right now. Lets hope Recchi is in tonight - if you add him to the list of impact players we have out right now, it gets more than a little scarry!

On Phillyburbs.com, Hitchcock says Recchi can put his foot in his skate and he should be playing tonight.
