Who gets the call up? Weber or Carle? or both?

So my money is on Weber and Carle getting the callup.

This team needs some puck moving Defenceman now!

the depth guys at present do not possess the skills neccessary to fill in for Markov and Schneider.

7 D will need to be dressed. With Weber or Carle or both getting PP time and the odd shift. With increasing workload when merited.

Weber easily. There is no risk either as he can't be any worse then some of the guys we have back there on D.

It would get Komisarek off the pp. LOL Komisarek on the pp, what a pathetic time this is.

They can't be worse than Brisebois, O'byrne or Janik...

I guess Weber. I'd like to see what Carle could do but I think the W is better.

Leave them wher they are and remember: they are in the AHL for a reason: because that is where they belong!!!!! just like Doug Janik and Ryan Obyrne they are AHL calibre and thats it period. There is no one in Hamilton to help us we win or loose with what we have.

Anyone know why Bob does not want to bring Carle/Weber up?

Our D is way too much static, we need some guys able to move the puck and play the PP.. I think Weber deserves a shot with the season he is having in Hamilton.. If PK was available, I wouldnt hesitate to try him either, we have nothing to lose at this point..

You saw him play? How is he doing? Can he helped us right now?

no I didnt see him play this season, Im only relying on stats and the reports I read.. I saw him play a couple of times 2 years ago in the OHL and you could see clearly his superb puckmoving abilities.. It looks like it translated pretty well at the AHL level, some say he still has work to do defensively but I think we reached the point where we have nothing to lose calling him up, our PP cant be more ugly, neither Brisebois or Hamrlik can handle PP1 time.. Weber has a great shot and great puckmoving skills, so if used properly, I think he could be useful..

So anyways, I voted for Weber, but I thought I heard somewhere that they were all out of callups and Janik was the last one they were allowed to call up until playoffs, so I'm not sure they can call anyone up.

watched him play saturday, I was impressed. He was always in the play, moved the puck well, pinched in quite a bit too, but never got caught defensively and scored a nice one-timer. He's improved his defensive game from the beginning of the year while still being an offensive defenseman. 2nd most goals for D-men in the AHL. I think he'd be good to use in select situations like on the PP only, and a few even strength shifts in Mtl. I was really disappointed in Carle that night. You could see from the pregame warmup he was going to have a bad game. He was having a tought time connecting on one-timers & overall his puck handling was sloppy.

If we make it to the playoffs, how about we call up Weber AND Subban?? Once he's eligible, Subban may be the puck moving defenseman that we need... he's inexperienced for sure but I wouldn't mind giving him a shot.

I hope both get a shot. Can't be worse than what we've seen from some of the regulars.

Good point. Against teams that forecheck hard, you need fast puck moving D-men. Thats why Dandy should be back there and im starting to miss Bouillon (believe it or not). Add Weber to the mix and we're ok. Not incredible but fast enough to get rid of the press and make the opposition pay for it.

I really hope this isn't true. If so, what a stupid decision. Can anyone else shed some light?

Since A. Kostitsyn can't be of any use on a forward line I honestly think they should make him play 3rd pairing D at this point. Limited ice time mainly on the power play. If anything just on the powerplay if necessary. But I doubt he could be any worse then O'Byrne on D.

Either way I still think we should bring up Carle/Weber give either one of them a shot, maybe Carle if possible. But if not I think we should get rid of D'Ago and never bring him back and just spend as much of our remaining time possible giving ice time to Paxcioretty.

I really really don't think OB is ever going to be a top 6 d-man on our team and would rather us waste our time developing an offensive D at this point because I doubt OB will be a good defensive D anytime soon. Could be a future Hainsey or something where he plays better after he's gone, who knows, but it won't be as a hab.

Weber seems to be the choice my management and Timmins said pretty much that the other day, plus Weber has been up for a cup of coffee this year already and is the most NHL ready Dman in Hamilton.

Carle to me seems injury prone and everytime he has played in the exhibition season he gets hurt with a concussion or other injury. Not sure he is tough enough for the NHL.

we need left D's our puck moving D's are RD's, I doubt Gainey wants to put that much pressure on the young kids and have them playing their off position in such huge games.

I doubt the Habs will still be playing when Subban's season in the OHL ends.

+1

But they will need to protect him, like only on the PP and if the Habs have a 2 goal lead.

I am not against trying A Kost on the second PP unit as shooter from the point.

We have to come to terms with the fact that Hamerlik cannot shoot with any force and hit the net, and Komisarek just does not have "that" shot.
