Can someone explain to me why they are voting for Jim Balsillie? Why would we want an owner whose ultimate goal is to move a franchise to Hamilton???

That would never happen, ever.

Yes I agree, but we all know it's Balsillie's goal. Why are people voting for him? I wasn't expecting him to get a single vote...

I agree. However Jim Balsillie would make a great clown at a Cirque du Soleil show !

It won't be his goal if he buys the Habs, he along with everyone has to know there's no way on earth the league would allow the team to be moved out. So why are people voting for him? He's rich and said to be a Habs fan, sounds like a good start.

Like almost every other ones on the list.

It's as if an Ontarian was voting for Gilles Duceppe, because "separation won't happen anyway". And Duceppe is a good leader and doesn't hate Canada.

I still don't get how we don't have a French Canadian "Star"

Alex Tanguay is one of the most skilled players in the league. He was injured most of the season and yet he has very good numbers! He IS a star. For that matter, Max Lapierre is turning into one along with Gui! The best fighter (let's not debate whether he's useful or not) in the league is BGL, is quebecois and on our team! Yes, Lecav might be more dominant in obvious ways than them, but come on...the first three certainly aren't bums, particularly of late (tanguay had two so-so games...give him a good breakout and he'll be back to normal).

I say Balsile. I live in Waterloo now so I get a lot of exposure to the guy. If there is anyone who would be smart and respectful like uncle George, it's this guy. Plus he's a Habs fan. And NO he will not move the team to this garbage dump of a place.

why does everyone think he wants a team in Hamilton? Previously he was trying to buy a crappy US franchise (not Pitts, Nash I think, he wouldn't have moved Pitt either) and move it there and encroach upon leafs territory. He didn't HAVE the option to buy the Habs. Hamilton was just a convenient place. This guy likes his Habs and the fact the Dogs are already there serves his alleged "hamilton" crush.

You might not know this, and I do from living in Ontario for 6 years now, but there are a decent number of Habs fans in certain places. The guy is from Peterborough. He is a Habs fan. Know who else is from there? Bob Gainey! Does that make him disrespect the tradition of the team? Uh...nope. Do you think one of the smartest entrepreneurs in Canada thinks it's a good idea to move the Montreal Canadiens even outside Centre Ville? Bad analogy with Duceppe. Ontario Habs fans (who aren't, like me, from Montreal transported here for work/school/whatever) are gems! they know not to be brainwashed by laffs nation's idiocy.

Hehe my apologies!!! I didn't know all that about Balsillie. And please continue to spread that support for the Canadiens in Ontario!! (so the ACC is full of Habs fans in every MTL-TOR game!)

Wasn't me, I swear. That guy doesn't ring a bell for me.

I'd say Balsillie.

If its the Cirque, look at the tight uniforms the players will have to wear...

If it's Angelil, Céline gonna sing the national anthems for free every games.

i don't care who owns the habs as long as the team doesn't have a self imposed salary cap. Any owner who allows the GM to built to the cap ceiling is fine by me.
