I mean, what's the difference between the Weber who was called sooner this season, and the one who has just been recalled?
I haven't seen him play in Hamilton, but 44 points in 68 games is good enough for me!

He has to clear waivers before he's sent down.. and he'd get claimed. I don't think Gainey wants another Hainsey or Beauchemin to happen.

O'Byrne is not the same type of defenseman, but he still has potential. Give him a few years.

Everyone wanted to rid of Latendresse, but slowly and quietly he's becoming one of the better plays night in and night out.

Imagine how much better Latendresse will become once he gets gastric bypass surgery in the off season.

I laughed. But it is an incredibly stupid joke. I don't get why everyone thinks Latendresse is so fat and out of shape..

Back on topic: we needed to call up Weber, cuz the point men on the PP have been atrocious the past two games. While I'm hoping Weber can help with the PP, we still need another defenceman who can get the puck out of the D zone 5-on-5 if we want to make the playoffs and not get eliminated in 4. Dandy's been good up front, but he really needs to be playing D...we could really use his skating ability to quickly get the puck out of the D zone. As bad as the PP's been, it's been nowhere near as bad as we have been at getting pucks out at even strength.

Weber should have been up to begin with as soon as both went down...gosh, those PP's Monday could turn out to be the difference...

The future is now, Weber gets his chance to show what he can do and gets a chance to put a hold on a roster spot for next year.
Why is it when anyone gets behind the Habs bench they become totally clueless...I mean BGL on the PP. Calling up players late when the season is on the line...stuff like this drives me nuts.

If Weber doesn't work, there's still one last thing left to try. Right out of Scotty Bowman's play book ...

Plekanec - Komisarek
Hamrlik - Gorges
Dandenault - Brisebois

It's not like Pleks is helping with the offense anyway.

Message boards going crazy is fun !

Bowman would be licking his chops at Pleks' wheels.

good. Janik was beyond HORID the two games he was here.

At least Weber has an excuse if he isn't good...the guy is still relatively young. I hope he helps the Power play but lets try and not jump on him the first mistake he makes...although our margin for error isn't a lot

Agree with you on the BGL thing, but to be fair this Weber move is EXACTLY the right one. We didn't have another option, we had to call up somebody. We called up Janik...not good enough, not by a long shot. All along a lot of people made the obvious conclusion that to replace 24 and 79 we need Yannick Weber. Dandy back on D is fine by me and according to the reports, we're going with him playing a dual role. I'm just impressed that Gainey actually did what we were all hoping for. This might not work cuz he's young, lot's of pressure, but it's certainly the best move. As you might have read OB is subject to waivers (although as much as people think he has potential...ehhhh...wake me up in 2015, maybe he'll have taken power skating by then) so it was Janik that had to go.

He was really good in pre-season, but everything is faster now. I hope he will help the team win.

Like smon said Lats jokes are getting annoying.

I'd say 20 is young, yes.

he was much better than ob IMO

I dont know how much 5 on 5 ice time that weber is going to get but he will be welcome on the pp.... nobody is respecting the point presence on the habs pp, and rightfully so.

according to an article i just read he will mostly get power play duties and might be used at forward 5 on 5. personally i think it all depends on how he is on the ice. dandenault could always be used as a defencemen if need be...
