I think I posted, though it might have been one of many posts I typed and then didn't post, that I think we'll see whether the team has really improved once Mason or Garon have a bad game. I won't go so far as to say a bad game from them would have prevented a win, but it surely would have been a test.
I made a post on the Arace column this morning before reading this thread or remembering the comment Blah posted by the Dispatch reporters...

That said, Mason has only given up 1 goal in two games and he was seeing beach ball sized pucks vs the Sabres. He has been a key to our win/loss column for two seasons now, the Jackets will level out and they still need help both on defense and offense to become a bonified playoff contender. (which I think they will get and be next season). Mason has been one happy camper since Hitchcock was booted.

Nah, I expect some of it. I could point out the things that I consider over-the-top, but it would be boring and meaningless.

We've had some wide open hockey, which isn't exactly uncommon with the team this year. We'll see what happens when we get a team that plays it better and isn't in the middle of a slump. SJ should be interesting. Van is the game I want to see. Not down on the team by any stretch, but Dallas and Buffalo was a nice draw for the start of the Noel era. No matter how long it might be.

What probably bothers me the most is the play of Nash the last couple of games. Would have been nice to see some of that the last couple of months. I really have no desire to watch him lead this team.

He's upped his game. But even with that, I don't have him on my list of most improved under Noel. He certainly wasn't our best player during the slump, either, I agree. Oddly enough, I can think of one player (not named Russell) who was very good during both eras

It's being discussed in some thread I can't recall, but in my opinion, this team has never shown it needs a quiet, lead by example, "don't take the 'stupid' penalty" leader. You can't judge a captain just by what you see on the ice, and it's hard to know what the team needs behind the scenes, but it's painfully obvious what the team does and doesn't respond to on the ice.

Funny listening to the coaches show. Clode gets little respect with questions like "why do we suck so bad", "when will it get better", "why do we suck so much worse then last year". Sheesh, Hitch wouldn't get repeated questions like that even when we were sucking worse then we do now

It's actually just billed as "The Coach's Show"

Cuz they know that there's no chance in hell Clod is coming back next year.

Noel may give Howson fits if the team wins... This new head coach thing is going to be the drama of the summer...

Hey, a two goal lead wins every time right?

I want Dineen but that means nothing... this coaching ball game is all in Howsons court...

Wow, this thread fell way low. Bumping it for the Coach's show tonight. Arniel probably won't/can't reveal too much info on today's happenings, but definitely worth listening and calling to try.

Torg dropping some "insider knowledge" on what happened today.

Or maybe you can wait and HCSA will be frank and open

Was I the only one that thought Arniel made it sound like there was already a deal in place?

The gist of it we'll know a lot more tomorrow. He said, noting "without tipping his hand too much", there are things in the works and they hoped Wilson cleared, but they needed the roster spot. the commodore thing would be over sooner than later (he was very confident of this without putting a timetable on it). he's not fond of the roster they have right now and they're working to change it.

That's the short version. Tune in tomorrow, after 12pm, from the sounds of things...
