No wonder they have no official Jacket song yet or any good chants.
"Lets go jackets" is all there is? Booooring!

All blue stadium doing the waive and chanting, now thats a hockey experience for ya.

Hate to bust the bubble but the Union theme is not going anywhere, other than the cannon.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Union theme along with the animated civil war battle on the jumbo before every game; is all I'm saying is that average Joe CBJ fan has no clue what it's all about. I'm tired of explaining (to newbies) what Stinger is all about too.

"backers" is used by every team from the NHL to the Arena league, 'like in' fans.

About Jacket Backers

The Jacket Backers, the official booster club of the Columbus Blue Jackets, were established to support the Columbus Blue Jackets hockey club, serve its charities and civic events, encourage participation in and support of amateur hockey and hockey education for the general public and promote sociality among its members.
hmm who established the Jacket Backers? Blue Jackets or some individual fans? Are they not free to do as the fans wants and not what the Jackets wants?

I think you Americans is so dull, 9 years and going no where in real fan commitment. It seems ya need to get every entertaining experience handed to you while you can just sit down and watch.
I dunno about the rest of the world but in Europe any fan expects to be part of and make his own entertainment.
Maybe ya just need a kick in the ass ..

Anyway I found a great site:
http://www.fanchants.com/

---

You Are My Jackets,
My Only Jackets,
You Make Me Happy When Skies Are Grey,
I Never Noticed,
How Much I Loved You,
Until You Taken My Jacket Away,
NaNaNaNa NA oh
(To the tune of “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine…)

---

Big Nash,
Theres only one Rick Nash,
Theres only one Rick Nash,
Theres only one Rick Nash...

---

can we play you
can we play you
can we play you every week???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5QEq...eature=related

---

If you hate xxx stand up "clap, clap"
If you hate xxx stand up "clap, clap"
If you hate xxx, if you hate xxx
If you hate xxx stand up "clap, clap"

---

we love you Jackets, we do
we love you jackets, we do
we love you jackets, we do
oh Jackets we love you

---

And it's the Jackets,
Blue Jackets,
We're by far the greatest team,
The world has ever seen...

---

On our way, we're on our way,
To the Stanly cup,
We're on our way,

How do we get there?
I don't know,
How do we get there I don't care,
All I know is Jackets's on their way!

---

xxx plays on left wing,
He likes McDonalds and Burger King,
xxx plays on left wing,
He likes McDonalds and Burger King...

Hitchcock's, Blue Army,

Que sera, sera,
Whatever will be, will be,
We're going to Stanley,

When Freddy goes marching down the wing,
Modin, Modin,
When Freddy goes marching down the wing,

When Freddy goes marching down the wing,
The Nationwide will forever sing,
We all know that Freddy is gonna score...

Not all Americans, to be sure, but you got me pegged correctly - I pay to be entertained, not to become part of the show. And the wave was old and annoying twenty years ago.

That's my problem, too. I have a white Nash jersey and a white Wright jersey. I do have a blue third, but no name or number.

Forget the wave that was just an idea and not a big part of my main point.
When you sing "lets go Jackets" you become "part of the show" no?
Or would you rather pay someone to do it for you?
A bit extreme but essentially what my point is.
Also why Im questioning the motivation behind the Jacket Backers.

Wear your white sweater. Just go out and buy a blue robe to wear over it!

Then why don't you just stay home and watch it on tv? I am not trying to be a jerk, but trying to understand this thinking. I have never understood why someone pays good money to go to a sporting event to sit the entire time and not make noise. When I go to games, ANY GAMES, I make NOISE!

I didn't say that I don't react to the action. In fact, I tend to over-react (my wife hates it when I swear about a play, even at the TV!). And good play always brings me out of my seat. I just don't like canned, processed, pre-planned routines and I hate cheerleaders. I respond to the game and I clap, cheer, or, very occasionally, boo, based on what I see. Bottom line, though, is that I pay for the sport, not the freedom to make loud noises in public. That's just me, though, and I'm not trying to tell you or anyone else how to act.

This is where you've gone wrong.

I completely agree with Pete on this issue.

Sure, making some noise is fine, but within reason. I feel like some people here consider anything less then an average of:

13,000 cuss words
4 opposing fans challanged to fights.
7 death threats to opposing fans

per game to be unacceptable as a fan.

When I see people standing up for 81.7% of the game, that's pretty damn obnoxious. And when I kindly ask people to sit down, and they act like I threatened to castrate them, that's pretty damn obnoxious too.

I really hope you guys are able to pull this off. I don't think we've ever seen an arena filled with all blue. I had the chance to visit Nationwide this year.. and I have to say the atmosphere is incredible. If you guys ramp up the excitement like i'd expect... well Nationwide is going to be an intimidating place for your opposition (I sincerely hope it's the Canucks!)

Hopefully you guys can pull the following picture in all blue.. man it would look sick!

I see you're somewhat new.

Initiation to the boards includes giving away free tickets.

Seeing as you have one you're selling, you gotta give that one away.

To me.

Hilliard, don't you hate when the new people do not know all of the rules. You, however, forgot to mention the free beer that comes with the ticket.

First, what dose any of that have to do with what i said. Second, if you don't want someone standing up during a sporting event, STAY HOME. no one standing up in front of your tv. your the type of person that annoys me at games. always complaining cause the fan by you is actually enjoying themselves. chearing, clapping, standing, etc.
