PK Subban not even in Hockeys Future Top 50 Prospect list.

How did PK Subban not even make Hockey's Future Top 50 Prospect List? The 10-25 portion came out and Ryan McDonagh is listed as the habs top defenceman prospect. ..and PK is nowhere to be seen. Wasen't he in the top 15-20 on The Hockey News list??

Why is there such a huge discrepancy between those 2 lists??

On the bright side though, McDonagh is 18th on the list.

i like to have underrated players.
Just like Tanguay,Kovalev and Koivu not getting one star last week.

Anyone here unhappy about this Pick?
I know I'm very happy to have a PK on my future list so who cares about that one article. We know and that what matters.

Isn't it more reasonable to assume that PK is in the top ten, than to assume he's not in the top fifty?

It goes by each team's top 20 list. McDonagh is ranked 1st on our prospect list, therefore he will be our top rated prospect. I kinda figured it would be like that before the list even came out because its like that each year...

Well considering that they have McDonagh listed "as the top Habs prospect" I don't think anyone would be ahead.

That's what I originally thought, but the article says "McDonagh is the Canadiens top prospect".

Regardless, as others have said, who cares what this guy thinks of our prospects? Doesn't mean he'll be any worse because he's not on that list.

My mistake, I should have read the first post more closely.

Well, I guess we can blame the Habs' list's writer then.

Nope.
They have McDonagh rated 8.0B.
Subban is rated 7.0B, the same as O'Byrne. LOL who in the hell made those rankings?

Its just frustrating that the quality of these lists are so bad sometimes..Subban was the top point scoring defenceman of the last WJHC, who also made the All Star team as one of the top 2 d-men of the whole tournament. He also had an unbelievable year in the OHL finishing tied for 2nd in scoring by defenceman and top 5 in the whole league in plus/minus...but apparently, thats still not good enough to even get mentionned on the list....

wow McDonagh at 18th is way too high imo. I like him a lot but 18th best prospects seems far fetched. But then again I would have Subban and Pacioretty over McDonagh without thinking very hard.

surprising to see VanRiemsdyk at 13 to me.. He's gonna be a complete beast in the NHL.

Take these rankings with a grain of salt. NHL teams aren't beating down thr doors of HF writers.

Wow... I was very excited about PK, but now that Hockey's Future doesn't have him in the top 50, he's clearly just another bust....

Well, I'd put McDonagh and Pacioretty ahead of Subban anyway.

Carlson not being on the list surprised me more though.

Carlson not being on there is pretty shocking if you ask me. He and Del Zotto are just beasts on the backend for London. As a pairing they're a combined +12 with 24 points in 8 playoff games.

I haven't been overly impressed with Subban in the playoffs. That's not to say he won't become a good player, but I just think he'll need some more development time when compared to other young defensive standouts.

First the one making our top 20 list on HF is a joke, second they use that list to make their top 50.. No worry about this, everyone know those ranking have been a joke for years.. Subban should be in reality a top 10 prospect on their list, they are losing alot of credibility once again..

Subban is ranked below Maxwell on the Habs' page, so I guess even the Montreal writer (Menard) isn't buying the Subban hype quite yet.

We used to have that kickass writer for our HF page, who was very active on the board and constantly updating everyone with great prospect info.

Damn, I can't remember his name...

I heard he's still around.

We used to have a great board would be more appropriate though

I have to figure Filatov is a top 10.

Haven't seen the list (so I don't know if he's already been named), but he'd be pretty high on mine.
