NHL network is showing a repeat of last night's game at 2 today. And the Windsor-Drummondville game is at 4:30 for those who want to watch Young and Henrique,

Anyone think that it's Henrique who could surprise and challenge for a NHL spot instead of Cormier?

After watching both play today, I can definitely see that happening. First time watching Adam and he is the real deal fellas.

Positives:
good size
good speed
battles for the puck
good on faceoffs
responsible in the d zone
shows good awareness in the d zone
shows good awareness in the o zone
shows good awareness in the neutral zone
makes smart decisions with the puck
makes quick decisions with the puck
can play a physical game
good at deflections in front of the net

Negatives:
Honestly didn't see one part of his game that was bad. He didn't really hold on the the puck a lot so I'm not sure how his puck handling is. He took a couple of shots, one went right in the goalies chest on the rush, the other at the end of the game there was so much traffic in front It would have taken a miracle for it to have gone through.

as you can tell I was amazed watching him play. A complete player

I've had the chance to watch him play for the last couple of years. Adam is not the type of player that causes you to worry when he is on the ice, there is no thoughts of him being extremely good or extremely bad. He is a solid all around two way player who usually plays against the opposing teams top lines or a line that is out there to grind it out in the corners and along the boards against players playing a similar role as he does.

He may not show up on the scoresheet as often as peopl would like but if he is shutting down oposing teams top lines his chances will be limited. If he is scoring it is usually against those same players he is shutting down.

I was very impressed by him, that's for sure. A lot more than I was expecting to be. I can't wait to see today's game, I wonder if they'll play head to head against each other.

Could happen. Although, Cormier has a slight advantage. If he can't keep up in the top 9, he can still be effective on the 4th line (I'm hoping for Holik without the penalties).

Either way, if these guys outperform some of our other prospects/players in camp, they should be allowed to stay for at least 10 games.

I think he is misused, he has the offensive instincts and makes plays crisp and quick. I know he doesn't put up the points but he sort of reminds me of Brad Richards without the shot. Granted this is one of his better games, when Hall was out he carried the team.

Just imagine if all of them made the 4th line. Henrique-Cormier-Halischuk would be an extremely effective (and extremely unrealistic but w.e) line that IMO wouldnt give up that many chances and be a high energy line.

I also think Cormier has a slight advantage for making the team because of the size advantage. Cormier looks like a man against boys out there (size-wise) and isn't afraid to hit anybody. He had a nice hit on Tyler Myers and when he did that, a quick image of him being in a Devils jersey doing that to Chara popped in my head.

I am every year just to be dissapointed by the Rupp's, Mottau's and Pandolfo's of the world eating up roster spots.

Patrice Cormier has a goal, and Rimouski are leading Windsor 4-2.

Despite that, I'm hoping this year will be different.
