Internet providers

My videotron high speed internet contract expires soon and I'm looking for alternatives for the future. Videotron was very good, great speed, great service, but nearly not enough bandwidth (20 gigs). I'm looking for something similar, but with a little more bandwidth.

Any advice?

No cable will give you more bandwidth.

DSL speed will vary depending on your distance from CO.

Cogego? But chances are if you have access to videotron, then you do not have access to Cogeco.

There are several videotron packages that offer more than 20gb. I'm on one that gives me 100gb total bandwith.

Try the link below to search all available ISPs in your town. I used the site many times when looking for alternatives from Bell, Rogers and other big ISPs with overinflated prices.

DSL is a bit slower than Cable, but most DSL companies offer an unlimited package. Try Sympatico.Ca

Bell doesn't offer unlimited. And for the love of all that is mighty, don't go with Bell.

Any DSL = throttling.

I am with Radioactif. No problem at all, but don't expect to have high speeds when dowloading torrents or anyting p2p related.

****ing Bell

I work for Distributel...so I'll plug it I guess. You get unlimited download for 36.95$/month. Again depending on how far you are from the CO, you could get up to 7 or even 8megs (unfortunately I'M 5.5kms away and get 3megs ). I don't know how good the montreal office is for tech/customer support, but in Ottawa everyone does their best to satisfy.
