thanks for the post. Love Schneidy! Him being back (with us and from injury) is just another one of those things that makes this season seem like fate. Albeit no Carbo, Gainey has replaced him very ably. Could be Breezer's last season and for all the hatred, would be so sweet to go out on a high. Centennial season crashing but being saved by a tiebreaker. If this isn't one of the most drama-filled seasons, I can't think of one since being a fan (i.e. alive).
We're counting on you to convert all that experience into saving our ***** til Markov gets back and then even after. Go 24!
So according to Schneider's logic its better to face Boston in the first round than in the second in third. Makes sense actually, I hope we surprise them.
Something interesting this year that I've noticed is that unlike previous years this team has a lot of good over 35 veterans in the room. Schneider, Brisebois, Kovalev, Lang (hey he's not on the ice but he's not dead!), Hamrlik and both Saku and Metropolit are getting there. It might not be a good thing in regular season since these guys can get fatigued from the long schedule but in playoffs I think it gives us a lot of help. All of these guys (except Metro and to some extent Breezer) have been stars at some point in their careers, they can play with enough energy to return at that level when it counts.
Its part of Bob's plan obviously, he tried to gear this team for the playoffs this year. Time will tell if its a success or not.
