Nashville at Calgary, the no-frills GDT

consider this the equivalent of "shaking up the lines." while drury's GDTs are beautiful and well-done...maybe all the glamour has gone to the team's head...so here is this...a no-nonsense, bare-bones GDT. on to the game...

i think we get spanked.

Calgary 5

Nashville 1

shrug, whatever.

If we can win this one, we can make up for last night.

We might be able to catch Calgary in an overly confident mode.

Or, we might lose.

If we lose, we can't let get to our confidence. We have the 5 "easy" games coming up and we need to win them all.

This is where Greg Johnson needs to earn his keep. If this team wins tonight, the loss to Edmonton fades away. A win tonight put us on a five game run against teams who are a combined 73 games under .500. A win tonight and a run of 4 wins in our next 5 (a tall order) and Edmonton will be fighting St. Louis for the 8th spot.

well I would have considered the Oil an 'easy' team after racking up points on them all season long. I have absolutely no faith in riding the easy schedule thought train.

It's hard to be positive about this game for me. I want a win bad and I know that the Preds can do it., just not sure if they will live up to their potential..

Well, guys, I'm back. I was gone on a ski trip through late Thursday night, and I'm just now logging on to the message boards again. Happy late birthday to Smokey!!!

Anyways, I caught the game last night, and I was very dissapointed. Zholtok and Bombadir just aren't finding their grooves here, and while Hnidy is playing very well......he isn't a top line d-man. We have serious defensive issues, but the most important defensemen.....the goaltender.....is struggling. 3 consecutive soft goals last night........killed us. We have to believe in our goaltender, but lately, Tomas has not given us that oppurtunity. I don't know who starts tonight, but whoever it is, needs to come up big for this team. We are in a slump, and this is a huge game.

On a side note, all we need is to tie the Oilers and Kings. We have 5 more wins than the Kings and 3 more than the Oilers. I'm thinking that, we will most likely have the win column tie-breaker.................we will see though

Trotz should watch intently how Johnson, Sullivan, and Walker handle these last few games. I think Walker should be the captain. He's a much better hockey player and a more fiery leader than Johnson. We have to reward Walker as he is the greatest Predator ever.

for some reason, i feel a little better, now. some people over on the other board made a few comments that for the most part, we still control our destiny. we've had a crappy stretch...but we're STILL in eighth, and that says something. after the calgary game, sullivan sounded like the only one upset. johnson, even walker were saying things like, "well, we got a point against a strong team, and that's huge.' Not "we blew a sizable lead against a team we otherwise dominated in front of a sell out crowd". walker IS angry now, calling last night's loss "unacceptable."

last night sucked, but if it woke the team up...like it seems it did...i can see the good in it. i do say...maybe it would be best to go ahead and give mason tonight's game. he's come up huge in the clutch in the past, and if our goaltending could keep us in it....i say go for it.

Tootoo has to be worth more the Zholtok on the ice at this point.

I take this one as a loss but without much remorse. I've been mapping out the final 10 games of the Preds season and I think they end up with 90 pts and the last playoff spot even with a loss tonight.

The way I see it a win is only a pleasant surprise, not a must.

You are right. I also remind myself of pre-season projections for the team. Doesn't help. I am a nervous wreck watching the games. Cannot even get comfortable when they have a 2 or 3 point lead in a game.

The lead is the worst part. I'm almost more comfortable when they're down nowadays.

I'm so FREAKING PISSED. What is up with these TERRIBLE refs. Sure...let them beat the crap out over our players well after the play the ENTIRE GAME. GOD!

Good game by the Preds. Solid effort and great win.

Niemmenin and Simon are GUTLESS pukes. Throw some freaking suspensions out there.

I always had respect for Sutter, but I just lost alot. No way should Oliwa be on the ice with 2 seconds left if we don't have Jimmy Mac out there. I wouldn't doubt if a few Flames get suspended. Good thing that Vokoun took out Kipper, and most importantly, we get the two points. Thanks Calgary!
