I can't believe they choked. The Penguins are practically perfect at home under their new coach. Way to go, Flyers. Now winning this stupid series will be even more difficult.

I don't care about home ice advantage, but playing that way won't get us anywhere against a team that has been playing very well for a while now

Heard you guys lost home ice and let in your first shorty. That's unfortunate.

Hope you get it together for the playoffs, the Flyers have to go deep enough for me to pick a favourite Flyer. (Richards seems to be my type of player/can't go wrong guy, you guys also suggested Giroux the last time I came in here.)

Agreed on all other accounts , but man Sens had 9 straight home wins setting a new franchise record , it's not like the Flyers lost against a pee-wee team . And it's easy to play when you've got nothing to play for and the pressure is low . Ask Ottawa,Toronto,Atlanta and even Islanders on some nights - they all had their little runs in the last 20 games or so
The boys didn't look to care until the very last minute of the game but at least let's hope that they are going to Pitt hungrier and more motivated than ever . I think a few losses here and there will serve as a wake-up call and help them getting ready for the playoffs.
Just trying to look at the bright side .
And I really like playing the first games away , because the pressure is totally on the home team .

So Lupul's an ethnic Rumanian eh. Not surprised. His name does sound pretty Dracula-y. When gypsies were roaming the earth I'll betcha there was a carnival called Lupul's Circus.

It's a common name in Romania . His mother is romanian. I so wish I could go to a game with a sign for him in romanian . I doubt he will understand the message but it would be fun nevertheless.(maybe Lupul's mother will do him a favour and translate it) The media from here doesn't give a **** about him nor the NHL though

The Rangers announcers, instead of replays on the monitors, were watching the Masters.

I don't think Lupul will get suspended, 1. because it was avery and 2. because he wasn't hurt.

Avery has been fined and (maybe) suspended for Diving before, so NHL reps will not give him the benefit of the doubt

Timmy P was on WIP earlier.

He said it's all Mike Richards' fault.

I don't think it's Richards' fault. We do have a very young team in general which could be a problem, but I don't see how it's Richards' fault.

We lost a lot of leadership in Smith, Hatcher and Kapanen, and Dowd too I guess.

It's because he was getting grilled about Stevens by our morning show, and in true stool pigeon fashion, he deferred and gave company lines. It's really embarrassing especially since you know the organization hates Timmy P, who came to them for a job with his tail between his legs.

I know one thing though, if we still had Sami Kapanen, he'd be smacking people upside the head and yelling at people for what's going on here, and not in a way where the players and coaches would resent him, because Sami more than showed that he commands that kind of respect without having to ask for it.

I watched the game at a friends house yesterday afternoon, so just reading this GDT now. I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in the way that I feel about this team right now.

It's been worse watching these recent games than watching the 06-07 season, because now there is all this potential, and games are just being pissed away.

They need a serious wake up call if they don't want to get swept by the Pens.

He said the loss was richards' fault? Or the sub-par play down the stretch?

Maybe he was referring to the Gagnesque matador wave Richards made at Gomez as he swept by to set up the game tying goal. First Richards waved the cape at Gomez, then stood pirouetting at the blue line while Sean Avery moved in to slap the pass from Gomez past Biron.

It was reminiscent of Gagne's awful effort a couple weeks ago, I guess that's what great defensive players do once in a while

Like Jones when he falls down and lets the opponents skate right passed him? Or when he goes for a poke and gets deked on and doesn't slow the puck down one bit?

We get it, players make mistakes.

I'll bet you that Gagne at least makes team Canada's long list, and if he does you change your name to IHeartRandy.

They are TWO-WAY forwards. They aren't john madden or sami pahlsson, they are top offensive guys who also play a solid game in the defenive zone. Give it a rest and go watch Jones fall down and let breakaways and 2 on ones happen.

Gagne has the lowest even strength goals against/ 60 minutes of ANYONE on our team who has played significant time (save Giroux)
