New Coach who should it be?

Who would you like to see as the new head coach,my gess is a hire from within most likely Rammer or KC.Personally I would like to see someone from outside the organization,I like Peter Laviolette.

Who should it be? It should be someone who will attract the skilled free agents. A player's coach, who is not afraid of the 6-4 games. Someone like Laviolette or Hartley.

Who will it be? Kevin Constantine. Because the 25-year-plan says so. And because this team is run by Doug Risebrough and Tom Lynn, who as we all know are God's gift to hockey management.

Is Pat Quinn too old to coach? I remember hearing he was DR's 2nd choice to coach the Wild back in 2000.

Quinn had some success with the Canadian junior team back in December. Although, any coach would.

I want Laviolette or Quinn. It's too bad that Tortorella was snapped up by the Rangers, because he'd be great too.

I think the consensus of most Wild fans is we would like to see a coach that will bring in a more up tempo game(Laviolette),the reality is DR is the GM and he will stick to his guns and hire a guy that is defence 1st,my gut tells me Constantine.

Peter Laviolette or Lindy Ruff

As everyone has said, however, it will most likely be Kevin Constantine and we will have even more trouble attracting free agents.

Would any of you guys be opposed to Ted Nolan? I know he has a bad rep around the league, but I loved the guy. And I'm not alone in that.

I really wouldn't mind seeing Mike Ramsey get his chance. I admit, I haven't been following NHL hockey closely enough over the last year or so to have a really informed opinion on current active coaches, so I could be overlooking some really good candidates, but if we stay in house, I think I'd much rather go with Ramsey than Constantine. Tremblay wants it too, though, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Risebrough give him the job, given their personal history and Tremblay's previous coaching experience.

But if we go outside the organization, I think Laviolette would probably be my preference. I've always liked his style.

I would not object to Nolan. He's certainly better than the most likely candidate (Constantine). I'd just prefer Laviolette.

Hi as a Canuck fan id say Quinn would do well very much a players coach and more offense minded would be more excitement in games for sure also like Nolan hes a good coach but what ever way i do hope the fans there see some things to be happy with its always been a great fan base and a real competative team

Local papers say no to Ramsey. Just plain sounds like he doesn't want it. Something about how history has shown that assistant coaches don't demand enough street cred to the existing players because they are so used to being seeing the assistant as the nice cop. I'll take anyone from the outside.

To my surprise I read that Mario reportedly wants the job and Jacques gave him an endorsement. I really hope DR doesn't hire Mario.

Vote For Tremblay!!

Maybe he'll get Patrick Roy to come out of retirement and play for us.

Sounds like some of you think DR would have total say. I think Leipold would have some input since he'd be paying the guy. I hope we do change our style somewhat and pick up a guy like Laviolette but changing styles takes time and more high end players up front than we currently have.

I'm sure they'll be talking about the team "values" -- team, honesty, preparation, value. That's what the interviews are going to talk about. I think MacT might be an interesting choice. I'd like to see a guy who'd move more towards attacking rather than counter-attacking. I think we've got guys who can play that way now.

as a Sharks fan who saw and fondly remembers the Constantine years, I think you guys would make a mistake by not promoting him. He plays a lot more offensive style of hockey and is great at getting the most out of his players...although, he did sort of wear out his welcome after a few years, but it appears his work outside of the NHL has given him more patience and a better attitude.

One more reason they should stick to things at which they actually have some expertise, like bigotry, pee-pee jokes, and eating paste out of a jar.

They are funny to at least listen to about news things though. I've heard a whole lot worse being down in the South.

I wouldn't mind Modano coming to the front office though...although you know Hull is going to give him whatever he wants to stay with the organization and I'm sure his hottie wifey isn't going to want to leave Dallas for St. Paul

I would pass on Laviolette. I read that he employed a strict no-fighting policy on his last team. What the h*ll is that about? These guys aren't pee-wees. Even the "Great One" knows that someone on your team needs to engage in pugilistic combat once in awhile.

Who on the Hurricanes had any fighting ability? Staal? Cole? Not a chance. Laviolette didn't have guys like Boogaard and Burns who were capable of winning fights. He was just trying to protect his players.
