There's always the thought that he's just saying this as a placeholder. He could very well say that "after a thorough review, we feel that this team, under this management and coaching staff, with another year of experience under their belts, is good enough to contend for a championship."

Also likely, but we'll just have to wait and see I guess. Honestly, I'm not expecting much, if anything, to be done but at least it'll be "looked into". I just want to see movement somewhere. You either make changes in coaching/management, make changes to the roster, or a combination of the two. I want both, but hell, just doing one or the other is at least progress.

Optimism is too strong of a word, but I'd qualify it as "a good start."
I wouldn't qualify it as a "good start". Perhaps "not a bad start"?

Yeah, semantics - it's not the same old "everything's cool, guys!" deal.

Of course, probably nothing will come of it and it's probably just to appease the fans who are looking for blood, but hey.

It's clear to me that we need someone in charge that will tell Tommy "I'm only visible when they are winning" Golisano to stay out of hockey decisions. Golisano spent something like $3 million (or more) on politcal activities. That's $3 million (or more) he could have used on making the Sabres a better team

Yeah, it's only $3 million. What a jerk.

Even if Golisano was in hockey decisions, it should've been Quinn / Regier / Ruff(?)'s jobs to present the business case to BTG on why he should make the investment on certain key assets. I have a feeling we either fell through there or that the FO were simply the ones who screwed up and BTG just went with it because he didn't know any better. It's probably the latter - is it REGIER'S policy to not negotiate with players during the season?

Although Quinn is a wee bit smug (he says with sarcasm dripping form his lower lip), what he says is irrelevant and nothing but lip service. he has to say somehting to try top appease and he will choose words acrefully to express displeasure, that there is something wrong or missing, and that he is going to do something about it.

Frankly, I only care that they take action, not talk about it. They need to change personnel and maybe make front office changes also.

Bringing to mind this losers checkered past, I don't believe a thing this ass clown says. He has no hockey sense and shouldn't be involved in any of those decisions. You mean to tell me he's going to pick who the new GM or coach will be if ownership decides to replace Darcy and/or Lindy? The only thing he should be in charge of is marketing and the new jersey for 2010-2011 season.

I hate to say it, but people need to start to vote with their feet (tickets, merchandise, etc.). Unfortunately I don't even think that will show them that the fans want a change in ownership, management and on-ice personnel.

Please BTG, sell this team and do it fast!

Who's going to buy the team?

It wasn't like there was a huge bidding war when Golisano bought the team out of bankruptcy for pennies on the dollar.........

Forget a review, just call me in the event that they actually decide that the treadmill of mediocrity that they are riding on currently is getting chucked for a serious change in attitude and direction throughout the organization.

I'm not holding my breath, but this "review" garbage is meaningless if we end up with the Same Old Sabres..........

Who cares. I'm sure there are a couple of people that have shown interest in owning a hockey team that could be suitors.

Jim Balsillie is the biggest name that I know of and I doubt too many people want him buying the Sabres.......

He sounds like he would be a good owner....except for the whole being hell-bent on putting a team in Hamilton thing.

Exactly.

I wish that he could be convinced that owning the Sabres would be the closest he would ever come to getting a team in Southwestern Ontario.

But, I doubt that happens.

I mean, they do sign Oh Canada before every home game regardless of the opponent!

Quinn said. “When we have a real clear path, we may or may not tell you. We may just start doing things."

What the frak does this even mean? Do we have to say "pretty please"? Is he auditioning for the Riddler? What an arrogant, condescending ****.........
