The out-of-town Rangers playoff bandwagon

Technically, I'm in town. But I'm an out of town fan, and sadly, this is the second consecutive year of this "Sabres-miss-the-playoffs-so-i'll-root-for-my-hometown-team" stuff.

I'd love to see the city get hardcore playoff hockey fever again. I love Torts. Soft spot for Drury. Etc.

(I do miss all the Perry Pearn intermission interviews, though)

Anyone else hopping on?

Welcome aboard... again

Just a question... How do you feel about the Gomez incident earlier in the year? Did you think it was intentional? I'm guessing most Buffalo fans are still upset over that since it might have cost you guys the playoffs.

Miller said it was unintentional, Gomez as well, so I go with that. I think the majority of the fans were pissed that nothing was done to Gomez in that game or the game to follow. We were SCREAMING for some passion and toughness this year, and that kind of incident can certainly spark a team. We didn't take advantage of it.

But yeah, intentional or not, it definitely cost us the playoffs. Lalime was decent in his first 3 starts, but he deteriorated and collapsed after that, and the team, as bad as it was all year, was even worse in front of Lalime than they were Miller.

_____________

I'm out of the loop, but how is the reaction to the Washington draw over Boston? The reaction seems to be mixed from those who I talk to, yet the boards seem to be uncomfortable going against AO, Green, Backstrom, etc.

Welcome aboard.

The consensus seems to be that obviously it will be easier to score, and that if we can Staal and Girardi to shut down OV's line, and we get Lundqvist to play his best we will have a chance. But all of that happening seems like a stretch. Avery will have to be effective in agitating some of the Caps stars.

Grab a playoff avatar. How about "Yes we can jump on the bandwagon"?

One person hopped on the bandwagon. LOL

Let's face it guys. The other 29 teams and their fans hate our guts... I wouldn't want it any other way though...

I was about to say lol a minicooper could probably work as our bandwagon even if we made it to the finals.

Amen. New York + Avery + the fact that everybody loves Ovechkin and the Caps play an exciting style = us against the world. And that's fine by me. If anyone wants to cheer for us, they are more than welcome. If not, screw em. Go root for the Capitals with everybody else.

Welcome aboard, jBuds. You're definitely one of the best posters on this site.

I would assume some Toronto fans would hop on the bandwagon, considering that their conditional pick hinges on how far the Rangers advance in the playoffs.

But the Rangers hate is very strong on these boards, and the Caps and Devils fans are quite insufferable these days. Hopefully the Rangers can pull off the upset and shut up all the haters.

I 've always had a soft spot for the Rangers.
Although I hated Messier.

(Leetch and Richter are ****ing heroes though.)

My Avery man-crush is at optimum crushiness.

Looking forward to tonight's game. I am sure I'll be the only one cheering the Rangers in the bar, but whatever.

LGR.

Thanks for the seat on the wagon.

Thats funny because I usually hop on the Oiler bandwagon

Got to show some love to the team that gave us Gretzky Graves and Messier. Maybe if we're nice enough to them they'll give us Andrew Cogliano
