Staal isn't helping tonight either with one of his patented disappearing acts.

Apparently we're playing half rink with clears or something. Did they pull brodeur? Been so long since the camera's been over there, not sure if he's even in the net.

Looks like this team may need a wake-up call in terms of an absolute ass kicking. Glad we decided to stay in Raleigh for this one. I didn't expect a showing like this. Not one ****ing bit.

Does it really matter? We would be getting creamed either way. Our guys all suck tonight.

What a bunch of clowns. I'm happy we made the playoffs, but if this is the game plan for the series, screw it. I would have preferred the higher draft pick. . Prove me wrong Canes

First kick at the can on the PP. For **** sakes do something here and wake the **** up. This is the playoffs and they started an hour and a half ago. Watching this team, you wouldn't know it.

Philly could be the worst team in the NHL and they would probably still beat us with how we're playing now.

If we were playing the Islanders right now, we'd probably be getting outplayed.

The Devils can smell blood and we're just playing like little, scared girls.

Put people in front of the net.

HINT: It's so you can get the rebound and score

How is that not a tripping penalty in the corner? Guy flipped Corvo with his stick.

Hey, we'll get a PP to start the third. If we're going to get any momentum at all going into the next game, that would be the time.

Win, Lose, or Draw in the 3rd period we need to show a level of compete that just hasn't been there in the previous 2 periods. We knew that Jersey was going to come out hot. That was to be expected. However, our lack of answer for that was not.

You don't want to give up prior to the 3rd even starting, but the goal is to split. A series doesn't start until you win one on the road. We just have to learn from the lessons of '06 and realize that regardless of how the first two games of the series look you're not out of it until you roll over.

I am appalled at the lack of effort by Ruutu and Staal tonight. Ruutu is especially surprising as I think he's overwhelmed in his first postseason matchup. If we're going to do ANYthing in this series, we need those two guys to show up. Ruutu could single handedly change the course of this game with a few huge hits but he's not throwing them.

Our most notable forechecker? Sergei Samsonov. Do you think we're going to win hockey games that way?

You had to expect this sort of start. Team hasn't made the playoffs in a while, spent so much energy to put together that stretch against a team that's in front of their home crowd.

It's one game, and it's not over.

Yep, and i am giving them some slack tonight. Friday I expect a different team.

That backyard bistro place has terrible mojo. We must never go there again ever.
