Koivu and the sisu

Interesting article about the finnish concept of sisu

http://www.cyberpresse.ca/sports/hoc...e-canadien.php

here is the wikipedia definition of sisu :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sisu

Basically, it's like having guts, the willpower to sustain hardship, to win against all odds. Finns developed the concept when they fought the Russian siege of WWII.

Saku says in the article that finns believe that, in sports and other areas, they have that particular trait.

He says you got sisu or you don't.

May the sisu be with you Captaine Courage!

I love this quote:
"Bref, lorsque certains se mettent à jouer «comme des petites filles», Koivu sort son meilleur hockey."

it is surprising...you never know with the media, one day you're a hero and another day you're a zero.

Please don't start a media bashing thread

Well it's not like it's Michel Blanchard or Réjean Tremblay who wrote the articles. There are still good reporters working for La Presse (MAG and Brunet's articles are always really interesting).

Speaking of Réjean Tremblay, did anyone hear him on CKAC saying that Gainey is selfish and that he now only puts the veterans on the line-up so he can win and reach his salary boni? I've never heard such BS. If he thinks that by dressing veterans could make the team win, well that's what he should do. By saying that he wants to win so he can get more money is just plain stupid. I think that this old paranoid dumbass shouldn't be allowed to breathe anymore.

Let's all hope, he's gonna show it, and above all, communicate it to all his teamates.

Thank god I never pollute my ears with his segment on CKAC. It's just as bad as Jack Todd's rant, I can't believe it. If Gainey dressed more young players, I wouldn't be surprised if Tremblay said that Gainey doesn't care about the team, he doesn't respect the veterans and that he doesn't want to win.
