1996 is the last time the Flames made the playoffs; the last time the Flames won a series in the playoffs is ironically 1989, the year they won the cup.

Thanks man, It is Ironic that the last time they won a round was 1989.

well the Oilers fans might not remember, but the last time the flames made the playoffs (which was 95-96 ), the Oilers missed the playoffs. as they did the year before that. and the year before that. and the year before that. and ummm the flames missed the year before that.

The last time BOTH Calgary and Edmonton made the playoffs was 1990-1991! at the time they were the two defending Stanley Cup champs, and the Oilers took an amazing 7 game series

I really wouldn't have had a problem with the team throwing in the towel, especially given their performance since late December. But, since they made deals to make a playoff push, I'll be pissed if they don't get in. (I suspect I'll be REALLY pissed come April 7, as I've been saying for about a month that I don't expect them to make it.)

BTW...could someone please kick Doug Weight in the you-know-what so he'll start playing more than a shift a game? His effort has just been pathetic most of the season, and even more so since the Blues went into the toilet.

I am sure there are guys in the room with sore feet from kicking underachievers in the ass, the problem is that the guy you are kicking has to want to elevate his play or its pointless.
