OT: Edmonton Bruins Bar

...

I should probably post this in the Oilers forum as well, but...

Is there a place here in Edmonton where us Bruins fans can converge and watch the games? I know there are a lot of us, but I still have no conglomerate to cheer with when we kick ass.

Just throwing it out there.

Hey MMB.

If you find a place, let me know and I'll be there. It's only a 5 hour drive from Saskatoon.

Speaking of Saskatoon, where's Saskbruins lately ? Haven't seen many posts of his lately.

I'm really hoping that this thread spiderwebs some of us fans here. I'd love to get a bunch of fans in one place so far away from the hometown.

Speaking of out-of-towners... Would there be a place for the Toronto fans? There seem to be quite a few of us here. I'm going to Hoops on Yonge tonight just because its right by my work and it has a ton of TVs.

Damn it, PM.

I thought for just a second that we'd have a special guest star joining us way out here.

No such luck MMB. I'll be watching here at home with the kids. Hopefully, we'll all get to see something special this Spring.

Another Saskatoon fan. You guys plan on going to the charity breakfast that Ray Bourque is suppose to attend on June 11th or something? I don't know if my schedule is going to allow it but It sure would be nice to get a autograph or a hand shake from the guy I grew up immortalizing.

I'm just staying at home to watch the games. I don't know any Bruins fans in Vancouver
Vancouver is full of Habs love....eff them all

The few games I had to watch at school (Habs vs Bruins playoffs 2008), the Habs won.
I'm glad I'm done with that school.

I think I'm one of about 3 Bruins fans in the Greater Seattle Area, so I feel your pain. HFBoards is my only real outlet.

I hope so. But I don't have any information on it. Do you ?

Money's kind of tight now, but we'll see what the whole deal is.

Any idea how money it costs or who is putting it on? Might be something worth taking my kids with if I go.

Two places I go are the Fox Sports Grill downtown and Teddy's off Roosevelt by the high school. Last year for game 7 there were a handful of Bruins fans and a couple Habs fans at the FSG to watch and Teddy's is the only place I know of in the North End that has CI so you see a few hockey fans in there every night.

Good tips, thanks. I think Roosevelt is generally a little more my speed than downtown, maybe I'll pop in Teddy's sometime. I actually live Eastside so it wouldn't be all the time, but it's definitely something to keep in mind.

I'm in Calgary right now, if I could manage the stink of Edmonton for longer than 34 seconds, I'd consider driving up there.

Calgarians always think it stinks up here. It's called "soap"!

As for the OP try going Shanks or BP's. It's probably your best bet.

A few things.

1) Calgarians suck. Everyone knows this fact.

2) Because of the schedule, you can probably go to any sports bar in Edmonton and watch the Bruins play at 5 MNT before the Western Conference games. Last year me and my buddies would go out every night once the playoffs began at 5 MNT and watch whatever games were on. Since we're playing Montreal, I can almost guarantee it'll be on.

We had a good time tonight at the FSG. There were at least 5 Bruins fans. Monday I'll be at Teddy's with the GF if you want to stop by for a pint or 6. I know there will be at least 3 B's fans there.

Working in Redmond until 5pm so I'd probably be really late. Any plans for the Saturday game?

I tried finding a large group of Bruins fans here in Calgary and no luck! I was just jabbing fun at Edmonton, it stinks there because it's a hard working industrial town. Nothing to be ashamed of!

... and for the record I'm not a Calgarian, I'm from Lowell, MA and moved to Calgary for my job.
