Theo hit in the neck by Ribeiro's shot !

A little bit of action during training today as one of Ribeiro's shot hit Theo directly on the right side of his neck... Theo was mad at Ribs and threw his helmet/mask towards him. Theo was really scared to have been seriously injured. Fortunately, it was not grave and the two were joking about it in the dressing room after. Theo said that Ribs' shot are too weak to hurt him. Ribs said that he thought he had hit Theo on the mask and that is why he was laughing at him on the ice thinking that Theo was faking...

The shot shook him up, Dagenais did the same thing this year in practice to Theo too. Although he isn't hurt he isn't playing tomorrow according to TSN on Sportscentre, Garon starts and Theo starts on Saturday in the rematch.

That's what I thought too when I heard it.

For a weak shot he should shoot more...look at his scoring percentage:

Mike Ribeiro 73 games played, 20 goals scored on only 97 shots giving him a 20.6% shooting percentage. Pretty decent.

That's accuracy, not power.

How many of his goals were scored on pure shots that beat the goaltender? A tip-in or deflection counts as a shot. He also got credit for goals that bounced in off hi.m Finally, he's gotten several empty-netters when there was no goaltender in the way.

All his goals are from 5 feet of the net.

and... it means that his shot is not the most powerful one. He prefers to dangle and shoot in an empty net than to try to beat the goalie with a wrister for example. But I agree as long as he scores I don't really care. :p

I saw it on TSN, it was nothing serious, they aren't mad or anything. Theo took a shot from Ribs and then gave one back (I stole that from Dutchy ) with that comment, he basically said he's lucky it was Ribeiro shooting cause you could see the puck wobbling cause it was so weak, laughing while he said this.

Is this the reason he isn't starting, or was that planned before this?

I saw the interview it was funny...Theo said "Mikey's shot kind of flutters" then he laughed

He is fine and yes Garon was already slated to start on Friday.

Notice it's the kids who get the shots up in practice? First Dagenais and now Ribeiro. Both these guys need "Sherwood" tattooed across their faces. You're heading into the playoffs and you bang a puck off your goalie's head? What's that about?

This thing seems to be getting blown out of proportion.

Theo's fine, Garon was starting tonight already, so it doesn't really change the plans.

I know theo's fine. The point is, you just don't send a puck flying at your goalie's head...ever. You learn that when you're 8 years old, as soon as you can do "lifters"....

I assume it was probably more of a wrist shot of something.

I have a problem if players are firing slapshots at the goalies head, but a Ribeiro wrister can't hurt that much.

Seeing as though you're content in pointing out the obvious, let me do the same for you:

It's not like Ribeiro intentionally aimed for Theo's head. It's just a shot that missed its intended location (the back of the net).

These guys take at least 30-50 shots a practice and practice over 150 times a year. Do the math, they're bound to let the odd one get loose every once in a while.

It's no big deal, Theo's fine, Ribs bought him dinner, it's all good.

No, no... You don't understand.

Ribeiro, the summit of evilness on this earth, just found a new way to piss off the real fans of the habs like C. or J.

- Tried to assassinate Theodore
- Has deflected pucks in nets, taking good points away from.. uh... well, away.
- Has fired pucks at empty nets when he had the chance, that's coward and un-challenging to the extreme.
- Got undeserved points by making tape-to-tape passes to linemate all season long
- Though rarely, he even went as far as applying some sorts of bodychecks, obviously only for getting Pierre & Yvon to scream, to C.'s disgust.
- Doesn't sport a sad and tragic face when he accidentally put one in the adversary's net.
- Is friend with above mentioned Theo which everyone should hate with a passion because he his good looking.

No, my friend, you didn't get it...

Probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard on these boards.

I don't know if it's me, but I can see it coming, there use to be the Ribs-Koivu gang war, there now is Ribs-Theo. Geez that really isn't good for the team. I believe Garon to be on Ribs side since he will be the one benifitting from Theo Misfortune.

I also heard (from one of my inside in the organization) that Theo's gang and Koivu's signed a peace treaty and will actually form an alliance to defeat Ribeiro's gang. That would be the reason why Souray will come back this week-end, so he can take a Slapper at Garon's face.

I don't know why no one else noticed that yet, but it is obvious.
