And is Brunet a closet Bruins fan or what? He was always praising Lucic and Chara and taking the Bruins's side on most penalties like when Hamrlik got called for doing nothing and when Yelle fell on Price on his own and got interference, etc.

I felt some of the plays were rushed. And a lot of the shots were not getting through to the net from the backend. So Thomas didn't have to really do anything......

Cherry saying that was the Habs game to win, and that Boston got lucky.

Said the Bruins were tight, and will look a whole lot better in game 2.

All I Know is that the Habs need game 2....or else it's not gonna be pretty.

Ah, thank god hindsight is 20/20.

Playing Brisebois over Weber for game 1 makes sense, Weber has ZERO NHL playoff experience and only 3 games of regular season experience. While I certainly hope he doesn't play game 2, the choice of Brisebois made sense as he is far more experienced.

As for playing Laraque on the first line, I thought it was a stroke of genius, it helped keep Chara in check. I agree late in the 3rd, especially once we were trailing, Tanguay should have been back on the line. But you can't say Laraque was not effective in the role he was given.

Great game , they played well till the end. Anyone who mentions Subban should seriously stop watching the NHL and stick to the CHL, you are clueless.

half way through the third that was anyone's game. whether or not Laraque should have played the whole game on the first line is debatable but I like the fact that he really did not look out of place. Pleks line needs to work harder. Higgins, Metro, Kosto, Lats, Dandy all played real well. Koivu = Warrior.

Seriously, laraque is pure garbage on skates...He's just a showman who don't know how to skate....

Plekanec is done in montreal.

Brisebois is done...in the nhl

Komisarek can't pass the puck

Kostitsyn is half asleep

Dandenault skate like a mad man and does nothing else

plekanec just play like he's supposed to..I mean..he is really a little girl

BUT.... I still have faith

GO HABS GO !! WE CAN'T LOSE TO THE BRUINS !!

The Gorges penalty was the turning point in this game..Up until Gorges penalty the Habs were pretty much in control in the 3rd..After the penalty and goal the Bruins took the game over..Tough lost but the Habs showed that they can compete without their best player and without any help from those idiot refs....A couple of these calls on the Habs were weak but Gorges penalty was a penalty..

Not at all. If I were kidding I would want to see Brisebois playing. I have seen a lot of Habs teams since 1960. I have seen a lot of players thrown into the playoffs without having seen a game in the NHL. IMO, now is the time for someone like Subban, seeing as Markov is out.

Remove your Bruins rose-colored glasses.

It's been TWO games now that they can't dominate without Markov being in the lineup.... The Habs would be over them with Markov.

That's what makes this loss so tough to swallow. We had them. 2-2 in the third and they barely had registered a shot in the period before Gorges took that penalty. From there on after the goal was the real Bruins and we got dominated, and I have a feeling they're not going to let up on Saturday like they did tonight.

You know what scares me is the fact that 90% of the Hfboard people knew our defense was weak from the start and BG couldn't address this. Oh yeah he did he got that offensively gifted Patrice Breezer. Then the injuries started to mount and we kept PB still. Any team that dresses PB night in and night out no matter if hes your 5th, 6th,7th defensemen is in trouble.

Montreal needs Markov back and we need Stewart in and Dandy at forward. I know Dandy played well, but we miss that speed and play he has been bringing these last few weeks.

Scratch AK47 and Pleks or D'Ago, D'Ago played better than those first two, but I guess we need to dress a centre.

Metro and Higgins were great tonight with Tanguay, AK47 would wake up with some hard workers and grit on his line?

Tanger-Koivu-Kovy
Higgins-Metro-AK
Lats-Lappy-Kosto
Stewart-Pleks-Dandy

Markov-Schneider
Kommy-Hammer
Gorges-Weber

Weber not playing good at D, switch Dandy and Weber up.

EDIT: this is a response to the guy asking what happened at the end of the game, and got merged here.

Nothing very exciting. After the empty net goal, Lapierre roughed up Kessel a bit then Lucic came in and hit Lapierre from behind. Meanwhile Schneider slashed Savard a few times then Savard acted like he wanted a piece of Koivu while safely tucked behind the ref.

Then at the end of the game there was another scuffle and Komisarek facewashed Hunwick quite a while and got his eye bleeding. Not sure why exactly Latendresse got the 10 minute misconduct... he did some shoving I guess, maybe I missed something.

I love it. We go down 3-2, who does Gainey send out to help us get some pressure and score a goal maybe right away ? Kovalev.. nice, good work, Gainey. Koivu, I know he's hungry and wants to score. come one Tanguay.... Georges Laraque.... WTF.

All I have to say is; Dressing Brisebois LOL. I'd rather have Weber out there. He's faster and he knows what the **** he's doing. He can already run a pp better than Brisebois ffs.

Here's to hoping Markov is ready for the next game and Brisebois is sat the **** out.

He did ok but he could have done the same job down low on another line. Having him there just holds Koivu and Kovalev back.. Especially when we need a goal.

Lucic and Chara won't fight Laraque.

POST GAME COMMENTS (FROM ME) AND RANDOM THOUGHTS

- Bench Brisebois, he is slow and sucks, put Weber in.
- Do something with Plekanec, whatever it is.
- Tell Komisarek to get the ****ing puck instead of waiting for the bruins guy to get it and then hit him (doing all this while giving a free scoring opportunity to them).
- Switch Kostopoulos with Stewart
- Don't play Laraque on every shift with Koivu/Kovalev

Huge Positives:

Laraque in the 1st and 2nd was very good!!
METROPOLIT - HIGGINS
KOVALEV - KOIVU
We played a good game with long length of domination 5 on 5 to the point even the crowd was pissed.

Funny random thoughts:

Dive / Embellishment by the bruins . See Plekanec' penalty "elbow" on Savard. And Axelsson dive.

Tough loss.

Its not that Laraque played poorly but he just basically neutralized Koivu and Kovalev. Aside from the goal, Kovalev looked completely lost.

Plekanec is just brutal and is killing his line.

For first time in a while, Lappy, Lats, and Kostopolous didn't seem up for the challenge. Very disappointing.

As a whole the defense was pretty good. Brisebois in his moments was just horrendous yet Bob kept putting him out there. Why?

My only problem with the officiating was how random it was. There weren't even many calls yet they just seem to pick out calls in thin air at a whim. Call everything or nothing. I don't care what it is, just be consistent.
