Kostopoulos - Does he belong in the NHL?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel that Tom K. should not be in the NHL?

I don't get people's love affair with him.

Sure, he works hard and gives 110% but what damn good is it when he has zero talent?

He's an average skater at best, he cannot stickhandle, he cannot pass, he cannot shoot, he cannot hit (effectively anyway), he sure as hell cannot fight, and doesn't make many smart decisions with or without the puck.

All he does is skate all around like one of those wind-up toys with no apparent direction or goal in mind...at least that's the impression I get.

Maybe some of you guys can enlighten me because I really don't get the fact that he is an NHLer.

I would definitely take Nonstopoulos on my fourth line/ energy line. The guy is a workhorse, forechecks well, and sticks up for teammates (even if he gets beat up in fights).

He had 4 points less than Guillaume Latendresse while also being pretty useful in PKs.

He had a bad game last night and it's frustrating that he has no hands whatsoever, might as well play without a stick. As they said (I think on RDS), if he even had a bit of skill in that dept. he would score a lot of goals because he goes to the net, gets good position, he just never puts it in. Whenever we have an outlet pass that leads to a break im like, yeah YEAH YEah..oh...Kosto...gonna be a pathetic dump in or shot. But he definitely is very good in his role. TK on the PK is a plus, cept for last night on one play. I think though, that if we are going to do all this line juggling, at leas swap him with higgins once in awhile so we can get goals off of the lap-lats work (btw. kosto cycles well with them too).

We haven't had a player like him since Mike Keane.

Pretty much, Keane had a little more offensive talent but both have the same desire and willingness to get their noses dirty.

The fact that you question TK's place in the NHL makes me wonder if you have a place watching hockey... not trying to be a *****, just saying.

He certainly does. Guy is a tireless worker and nice and chippy. Stands up for teammates and really is an all around menace when your team plays him...

His role is a fourth liner, Begin wasnt the greatest passer or best shooter.. does he not belong in the NHL?

I think the only problem is that sometimes the team gave him to much responsibilities, but besides that.. I think obviously he deserves to be in the NHL.

As a Bruins fan, Kosto reminds me a lot of Kobasew...not much talent, but always willing to work his ass off and stick up for his teammates...that being said, there are nights where I could really due without Kobasew and his lack of natural skill...

The love for Kosto seems very similar to me and many Bruins' fans feelings about Kobasew.
