Let's hope Price and BGL can translate that into an awesome performance. It does bother me a little how little price seems to care when the issue of losing was raised but what can you do.
I think its a good sign...I mean if you look at it price caring about what everyone says = him not concentrating on hockey and with blown up expectations in montreal that translates into more stress than all hfboarders combined could even handle.
so i am glad, also if you look at the context of the interview it is the cabbie, so you would expect more spoofs and laughs then your typical one voice, one stare carey interview right?
It was pretty funny. Although Price's "sorry, we tried" routine wasn't exactly something you'd think is the greatest reaction after a loss, at least...like you say he isn't on the verge of tears. Kind of odd that he would agree to an interview. Laraque did diss him pretty hard though
It's a probably good thing if they aren't too down, like others mentioned it could be a good sign....
Lately I think we're seeing Laraque's true value to the team.
Before game 1 he had the comment about Thornton and he had everyone talking about him, not Price, Koivu or Kovalev. I think Georges knew exactly what he was doing with that comment, and was trying to deflect pressure off of everyone else and as much as possible on to him. While Montreal didn't win Game 1, Laraque probably had his best game in a habs uniform, and more importantly, took all of Chara's focus off of Kovalev and onto him. I don't know if Bob is going to use him as much as game 1, but I wouldn't mind having him skate 2-3 shifts per period with the top line. While it's not something that can work for the whole game, I think having him there can provide some value and space for Koivu or Kovalev.
Now we see this video where Georges and Carey kind of mess around and have fun. We've always heard reports of Georges being a funny guy who likes to joke around and have fun, and maybe that's exactly what some of the young players on this team need to stay loose and not get too stressed out about the game. Last night during the Flyers/Penguins game the color commentator pointed out that Bill Guerin is the first guy who really joked around with Crosby, and that's kept him loose and according the analyst(I forgot who...) he said he's never seen Crosby happier. Crosby has also been more productive since Guerin's arrival.
I know some of us(myself included) haven't been too happy with BGL this year, and we want him to be more aggressive and pretty much kill anyone who looks at our star players the wrong way, but I think he's proving his value recently and deserves a clean slate for next year.
