Atlanta Hawks Playoffs!

Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat

Game 1: Sunday (tomorrow) on TNT at 8pm et.

Anyone else excited about this playoff year? I believe they can go far but the only EAST team that fears me is the Cavs. We could content with everyone else.

I'm glad the Hawks are doing well and are in the playoffs but I hate basketball with a passion so I'm not too excited about it. :p

I couldn't care less, either.

But I hope they make some noise. It would be high time an Atlanta team does make some in the season after the season.

I pull for all the home teams, so I hope they do well. Since they're owned by the same group that owns the Thrashers, I'm doubly pulling for them. I figure a stronger financial footing for the Atlanta Spirit can only benefit the Thrashers.

I hope the NBA playoffs make the Atlanta Spirit a bunch of money so they can pay Kovy.

"I could possibly care less?"

That's a good question, actually. Too bad I'm not an English major, or I might have an answer

Yeah, awesome game, hopefully they can keep it up. Keep playing defense like that and Miami doesn't stand a chance. Here's to hoping some of the other top seeds get knocked out (Boston, Orlando, keep up the losing!) and we get a good 2nd round matchup.

is the NBA playoffs the same as NHL ? I forget this all the time.

Like do we get the winner of the cleveland series or does it go by best plays worse seeding?

i.e. say we win , clev wins, philly wins, and chi wins..... we would play Philly ?

They don't get reseeded- we play the winner of the Detroit / Cleveland series. I was just hoping for a weaker eastern conference overall if we are somehow able to hold off the Cavs after we finish the Heat.

Worst seeding so if the 76ers can upset the Magic they will get to play Cleveland next. If Magic win then the Hawks vs. Heat winning will get Cleveland next.

The game tonight sucked. They were giving Wade wide open jump shots and the Hawks couldn't hit a free throw to save their lives.

Not sure what is more impressive: How well the Hawks played in Game 7, or how poorly the Heat played in Game 7.

Hawks are a great home team.

Round 2 will be tough and we probably have a 25% chance of winning the series.

We need to steal a game in Cleveland. Hopefully this series win motivates the team to play amazing.

Believe!

The more Hawks home playoff games, the more money ownership can spend on the Thrashers this off-season.

With that in mind, go Hawks!

I've always hated basketball but I have to be honest. I've really enjoyed watching the hawks in this series, and I'll probly watch them in the second round too. I guess there's just something about the home team being in the playoffs that can make you watch a sport that you don't even like.
