Other Playoff Series

Just saw this in the GDT and figured it would be a good idea to have a thread devoted to other teams.

Caps-Rags playing right now, Varlamov in net...

There's a guy in the first or second row in the Rangers end who's wearing a Varlamov jersey. Nice call on his part.

By the way, how stupid do you feel if you're a Caps fan and you didn't wear red to the game?

I love Ryan Callahan.

I can't ****ing believe the Rangers came out and stole the first goal.

Theodore and the Capitals better wake the **** up before this series slips out of their hands.

This was supposed to be their big "We were just glad to get there last year, now it's serious..." push.

What the hell.

Caps better win this. They're the only other team I like so if the Flyers fail, I need a backup.

Cheering for the Caps? I can't stand 'em, personally. I know the Rags are bigger rivals to us, but I just don't have the same hate for them the last few years.

Plus they have my favourite junior player of all time.

I'm only cheering for them because I betrayed my gut feeling by picking them over the Rangers in my bracket.

Every fiber in my body was dying to pick the Rags, and I decided to go with the Capitals at the last second.

It's just buyer's remorse.

I actually find myself rooting for the Rangers. Just because I hate Bruce Boudreau so much and enjoy watching the Caps fail. I also really like Ryan Callahan.

Fair enough.

I didn't watch Game 1, was Theodore that bad? Seems like a ridiculously risky move to start a rookie in Game 2. I hope it fails miserably because I hate that ********** Boudreau.

My new favourite poster.

Anyone see that replay of the goal with Ovechkin, Green, and Kozlov coasting right behind the play instead of trying to catch up to the 2 on 1?

He let in a couple weak goals. One was shortside glove side which wasn't very good.

He's one of those guys that isn't talented, but he is such a hard worker, something this team could use. He's a guy that I have a lot of respect for.

He was a very talented junior player with a big work ethic. I actually envisioned him and Scottie Upshall having similar careers as third line players that could score 20 goals, but Cally's actually been a much more successful player in a shorter period of time. He was a 50 goal scorer in junior and is the Guelph Storm's all-time leading goal scorer. I'm thinking his ceiling could be a 30 goal second line player now (I think he hit 22 this year?).

Part of me is almost starting to believe that this has something to do with the "hardness" factor.

The Southeast is just a wholesale softer division than the Atlantic. It's the worst division in hockey, in my opinion.

Wow this is amost exactly how I feel. I liked Callahan as a rookie. I still like Ovy, but Boudreau has annoyed me so much that has overshadowed that. Although, when it comes down to it..I'm rooting for Chicago.

The Capitals are taking Flyer-esque penalties. Yikes.

The penguins won 2-0 last night in overtime in case anyone forgot.

Was that Giroux slashing his stick repeatedly against the penalty box

Ovechkin's Capitals remind me of Allen Iverson's Sixers.

If he's not on fire, then the team is boned.

Ovechkin has been painful to watch through the first 45 minutes of this one.

Toe drag, chest snipe, toe drag, chest snipe, toe drag, shot deflection.

Another PP chance for the Capitals.

Playoffs, you're trailing in the game and the series 1-0, third period, you're at home...

This is about pride.

What a great two road games from the Rangers.

While I said I was unsure whether or not a personality like Torts would be good for the Flyers, he's done a bang up job in New York.
