Personnally, Plekanec! I feel (or maybe hope would be a more proper word) that this healthy scratch will have been beneficial to him. I don't believe in Sergei right now, I think he needs a good summer of work and reflexion.
I doubt Plek is held out again unless there is a private issue that the media hasn't gotten wind of. I've been less than impressed with his play this season but considering Glen Metropolit played 18 minutes last game (more than Koivu & Lapierre) I think we could use some help down the middle. As for who to take out, you don't necessarily need to bench a forward since Weber was supposed to be playing up front last game until Bouillon got hurt. I think it'll be btwn S Kost and D'Ago for the remaining spot on the 2nd line.
That's better. Sergei and Pleks are both not getting it done. Higgins played center later in the season for a few games and his faceoff % was very decent. Laraque has been effective, especially in Game 1. Game 2 wasn't great for anybody. Putting Tanguay back on that line at home should do the trick. We still need Laraque's size in the lineup. You don't take a guy like him out in a grinding playoff series. Listen to his pre-game audio on Habs I/O - he stays.
Weber needs to play on the back end. Other than one errand pass that we're used to seeing out of Brisebois, Weber looked pretty comfortable. Put him with defensively responsible Gorges instead of Schneider, and we're good to go.
I would dress both, I mean I think today we need to play like we have absolutely nothing to lose. I'm hoping that the habs play smart disciplined hockey. And I certainly hope that they play their fast hockey.
