Headshot, charging. Why don't you take off your Orange & Black disguise and go join the Penguins troupe.

See the video below, I look forward to your response.

Headshot - CHECK!
Charging - CHECK!

But I guess it's okay for a Flyer to do it, right?

P'lease. It's hockey...these are textbook hockey hits. Let them play.

C'mon. This is hockey, let them hit. I had no problem with the hit, I guess I'm just on the minority. Am I pissed that a Flyer was on the recieiving end of it, sure. However, if you want to call that suspension worthy and deem it head hunting...then what do you call this?

Nothing wrong with being a homer, but some of you really need to take off the orange tinted glasses.

I guess Im a Pens fan too then.

#1 Kimmo was playing the puck as he got hit.

#2 Kunitz didnt leave his feet.

So that rules out Interference and Charging.

#3 He led with his Shoulder.

So that rules out elbowing.

Keep your head up Kimmo.

Kunitz didn't lead with his shoulder, but I have no problem with the hit. I just dont understand why Downie got 20 games and no one else gets any games

And Richards on Z wasnt charging

So, this is my Flyers day.

I left my house at 1:15 to get the early...knowing there was a Phillies game and expecting some traffic. We get onto Rt. 42, before Deptford (in NJ) and sit there. There evidently was a fatal wreck a few miles up and it took us an hour and a half to get past it. We got past it at 2:55 pm... and we weren't even past 295 yet. On top of that, I look down at my jersey and see that the "C" on my new Richards 3rd I got the day they came out is hanging off.

Somehow, some way....thanks to STH parking... we made the game in time for face off. We even got to see God Bless America.

And then the game. What can I say. SOOOOO much fun. I don't envy any Pens fans there. They did not have a good time. After Giroux's fight and assist...I said I'm naming my kid Claude. I don't even care if it's a girl.

To top it off...as some of you may know, my Richards 3rd jersey is crap. I got it the day they came out -- with no "C". When I got the C done...at the Wach.. they heat pressed it and in doing so..creased the crest. Now, the stupid C is coming off. So I go to the Fan Zone after the game and explain my displeasure. They exchanged my jersey for a brand new one -- no questions asked!!! I LOVE THIS TEAM!

Thanks FLyers!

OK maybe he didnt, but he still didnt do anything wrong on the play. Downies hit was suspension worthy(not 25 games) IMO he left his skates and drilled him. I will say that if Carcillo hit Gonchar like that, we wouldnt be seeing Carcillo until Christmas.

Yeah Downie was preseason and stuff so I understand a suspension, but there is not 20 games difference between Kunitz' hit and Downie's

Downie got suspended because of his repuation in the OHL, the logo on the front of his jersey, the name on the back...and the injury that the hit cause. For the record, I had no problem with the hit, other than him leaving his feet which I don't feel warrants 20 games.

Back to the Kunitz hit, I find this hit very similar too. Of course, I don't expect anybody here to agree...

Ray ****ing Whitney isnt as awesome as Giroux either, so Giroux gets first claim to any name at any time. Period. I have spoken.

If downies skates stay grounded i say theres 0 games difference between the 2. The NHL shouldnt (and they wont) waste their time reviewing this.

Not to get off the hit debate (C'mon people, we won the game. Do we have to bicker with each other?) but Lou Nolan said that not only was the goal by Ross his first playoff goal...it was his first NHL goal!

Gary Roberts made a career of hitting with his arms/chest square. It is legal, if done right. Also, I thought we (as a forum) were talking about charging and hitting a unsuspecting player.

Like I said, I don't blame people for being biased...but I do feel it's a little much. I guess I'm just a little more unbiased and quite a bit more objective on these types of things.

Hockey fan first, Flyers fan second.
