Gaborik - Datsyuk - Hossa

Probably Vancouver, especially if they don't re-sign the twins.

And then you'll wake up.

That's probably less than 10% of what Gaborik's going to be making next season, barring Ken Holland either performing a miracle or owning some very compromising pictures.

I would kill (not literally, Mr. Leonsis) to see a healthy Gaborik on Crosby's wing for an extended period of time.

Crosby thrives with a player who can anticipate, keep up with his pedal-to-the-floor style of play, and is also defensively responsible. Gaborik just seems like a fantastic fit, and he's relatively young to boot.

I would be totally fine with Shero letting go of some of the UFA/RFA's we have this year in order to make room for Gaborik at say, $7.0-$7.5mil.

Unless Shero plans on rolling three lines and having 5 Dmen I don't see how he could land Gaborik. When he goes down with yet another injury next season the Pens would be boned.

what would gaborik be able to make as a UFA this summer. do you think he would sign a 1 year 7.5m contract or something of that nature? or do you think he could get a longer contract?

Then when he is hurt, we are effed. I would rather re-sign Scuderi first, and then try to keep Fedo and Guerin. Let the rest walk.

But somehow getting Gabby to sign a 1 year deal at a reduced rate would be tempting (however unlikely)

I think that Gaboriks value is pretty low...all the injuries and such..

i think he will sign a one year deal....for like 4-5.5 million. ..and look to post great numbers...THEN go for long big $$ contract

i dont see how a team can commit to him long term, especially in 2 years when a potential lowering of the cap occurs. i dont see how a team can risk money and years on that.

Feds would be worth keeping, but his regular season disappearing act scares me.

Guerin is a great locker room presence and all, but I'm not sold on his on ice ability and the fact that he can skate with Sid for an entire season. I don't think Guerin is brought back by any means.

If he doesn't resign with Minnesota, I can see Montreal offering a 4 year 32 million dollar offer to try and get him here.

I've been hearing that Waddell will try for a big fish again. Being paid 1.5-2 million more than you are worth is hard to resist. I could see Waddell offering Gaborik around 8 mil per.

Gaborik said a year or so ago that he does not intend to play deep into his 30's and wants to win sooner rather than later. Not enough to take any kind of money discount I'm sure, but I don't see him signing for an Atlanta or Toronto. Or dealing with the pressure cooker atmosphere like Montreal or again Toronto. I have been thinking he's LA bound. But after hearing the Vancouver/Sedin's contract talks have stalled I think they may make a hard play for Gaborik. They have what Gabby wants. Money, a legit Cup contending team and his bestest friend in the whole world.
