But I could be biased since STP is my favourite band.

I'll of course be seeing them at Bluesfest (along with Kiss, Cake, Live, and whoever else).

I suggest that people go see That 1 Guy. I saw him last year and it was my favourite performance yet at the Bluesfest.

Great to see they've followed suit of many festivals by including at least one DJ set - Girltalk...this dude uses some wide ranging beats and samples...Feed The Animals, his latest compilation/mixtape landed at #4 on Time Magazine's Top 10 Albums of 2008...Rolling Stone ranked his latest album as #24 on their Top 50 albums of 2008...Blender magazine rated "Feed the Animals" the second best recording/album of 2008...pretty hefty praise for a guy who's instrument is a Laptop and talent is mashing songs...

Anyways, check 'em out...

Whenever my buddies and I throw parties we always throw on Feed The Animals. I called my buddy this morning when I got up and saw the line up to tell him that Girl Talk was coming. We're so stoked for this. He mixes everything from Kelly Clarkson to Radiohead to Ludacris to stuff from the 60s like Steppenwolf (spelt that wrong). It's great music to dance along to and play some beer pong

KISS and Brian Setzer are no misses. Cake is good too, but pretty weak lineup so far.

i've never been to bluesfest yet lived in ottawa my whole life.

I am a huge blue rodeo fan. I know they've been to bluesfest before.. do they put on a good show? I've never seen them live before so i think ill be hitting them up and possibly ben harper.

Well, on my old hockey team, one of the mom's stalked them across the country. So, I guess so.

(she actually did ... city to city..)

doubt it, about beastie boys. theyll be in montreal only on August. Seems a little too far from the festival. (doesnt mean they wont be playing in ottawa)

After looking at the Bluesfest lineup, I've decided on definitely going to Osheaga instead.

My wife and I have seen Blue Rodeo at Bluesfest at least twice, and they always put on a great show and the crowd is great. So if you're a big fan of them, I would suggest going and getting there early because it'll be packed. Expected around 25,000 people for that show and possibly more if the weather is good.

Some people just prefer more mainstream acts like Coldplay and the Beastie Boys.

The only bands that I want to see at Osheaga are Lykke Li and The Decemberists. Beast is another one, but they'll at Bluesfest anyway.

Anyone know what's going on with Green Day? No mentions on any of the stages or scheduling, but the band's tour site says they will be in ottawa on the 17th at an undisclosed location.

Will KISS tickets be included in the pass, or offered at a discount to those with a pass?

Also, i'm definitely coming back up to montreal for Osheaga, as the Beastie Boys are one of my favorite bands.

GirlTalk seems to be everywhere this summer. Bluesfest, Osheaga, Llollapalooza, etc.

Green Day is playing at SBP on the 17th.

If you buy a festival passport, it'll get you in to all of the Bluesfest concerts, including the KISS show. The only things that you'll have to pay extra are food, beverages, CDs, T-shirts, etc. that you may buy on site.

Yeah, it is, but The Roots on their own make it better than Bluesfest.

This year's Osheaga lineup is the worst in years. There's definitely some good bands in there but compared to the two previous years, it's very mediocre.
