Yeah because Laraque and Brisebois are responsible for our bad season.

Man is this blaming of Laraque for our woes GETTING SO VERY VERY STALE.

Cripes, with the train wreck this team has become, and somehow people focus on BGL...utterly idiotic. Yes, he is overpaid, GET OVER IT. There are far more serious problems rotting the core of this team than BGL's paycheck.

For most of the season we were stuck with a heartless, gutless core of players, 10 upcoming UNSIGNED UFAs, piles of injuries, no coach, likely no GM next year - and still the BGL signing is at the top of the list. Please NO MORE ON THIS.

If anything, the guy's been an asset as far as I'm concerned - he's finally being played properly, hitting, crashing the net, intimidating, trash talking. Christ if only it was contagious, we might be somewhere...

I don't think he's blaming Laraque for the losses. Still, 1.5M for a guy who can't skate, barely hits and fights only according to the code. Hopefully, he gets buried in the minors next year.

He is not the cause of our problems, but the Habs' success last year was based on speed and putting Laraque in the line-up is like destroying our winning style with only one modification.

He's a non factor. Useless maybe, but he's not "destroying" anything. How many games did he played again?

New management and coach next year means players have to earn their spot(and that INCLUDES the goalies).

3 out of 3 playoff games (and 2 of them on the first line).

That's the bad news. It's like being unable to wipe the soles of your shoes after stepping into something and walking around until it wears off.

Plekanec is capable of rebounding. He had an excellent 2007-08 season. I'd hate to lose him for nothing.

My point exactly. I'd estimate this guy and his style of play is responsible for all of about 2% of the Habs woes (Injuries being about 60%, the BS distractions make up the rest)

LOL - nice analogy.

This disaster of a season is not Laraque's fault, but I think we can all agree that the 1.5 millions could have been invested in a better way.

While I agree that losing 0-3 to the bruins suck..

If you look back at 1st game, I think we played really well even if we let
2 bad goals during 1st period. It was a very close game, it was 2-2 at some point but Bruins got a PP and they won... we could have won that game easily.

Now 2nd game against Boston, that was a disaster, they outplayed us.

3rd Game : Habs are playing VERY well at the START of the game but Bruins are playing well defensively so we only lead score by 1 goal (1-0) after 10-15mins.
2nd period is not so pretty but we didnt play that bad.. they win 4-2 with empty net goal.. so basically 3-2 (close game again)

My point is, Markov is injured and he is our Most Valuable Player, we dont win often without him. BUT we proved we can compete with Bruins (1st east) with NO markov.
IMO game 1 and game 3 could bounce eitheir way.. it could be 2-1 Habs or 2-1 Bruins easily instead of 0-3.

We are still a good team, but we are not lucky this year (injuries)
Good news is we can still compete with Bruins
Go habs go, I still beleive

Its only 1.5 per year, who care? Wasnt healthy for the most part of the season, I think he will learn from this since he came to the training camp too heavy.. Will lose some weight and skating will be less of a prob.. he will be in and out anyway, its not a big deal..
