Game 4: Pens 3 - Flyers 1

Food vs. Food (Part 2)

The Pierogi:

"The pierogi is the Polish version of a filled dumpling. Pierogi are also commonly associated with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. There is even a "pierogi race" at every home Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, where four runners wearing pierogi costumes race toward a finish line. The word pierogi is also a feature of the local vocabulary of the Pittsburghese dialect."

Scrapple:

"Scrapple is a savory mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and flour, often buckwheat flour. The mush is formed into a loaf, and slices of the scrapple are then fried before serving. Scraps of meat left over from butchering, not used or sold elsewhere, were made into scrapple to avoid waste."

Dude, scrapple is the most disgusting thing EVER. Ugh. -shudder-

Pierogis are sex. Probably my favorite food.

Let's go Pens, burn them to the ****ing ground and send them packing!

I am going to miss this one due to Softball, alas. As much as I love watching sports I will always choose playing over watching.

Hope I come home to good news, nevertheless.

This series is FAR from over, regardless of the fact that we have the 3-1 lead and going back home for game 5.

The Flyers are gonna once again come out playing desperation hockey like they did in the last 2 games, and considering how well the played in game 4 in particular, they're gonna be coming out full of confidence knowing what they're capable of.

The Pens on the other hand desperately need to regain the intensity and focus they had in games 1 and 2. If they come out flat and dull like they did in game 4 in particular, then I can actually see Philly stealing a win here. I'm confident that MAF will have another solid outting, but I'd prefer not to leave him hanging as much as we did in game 4.

4-2 Pens. The crowd comes alive. Malkin 4 points, Crosby 3 points.

We've all moaned and groaned all year about a killer instinct so this is when it counts, this is when its needed and we'll see what this team is made of.

More than anything I want to see the Pens play a smart game with sturcture and puck support in all zones. I think that what the Flyers have been doing well is getting between the D and O and cutting down the Pens transition game. The Pens are kind of letting it happen by playing a little sloppy so maybe its a quick fix for DB.

It'd be nice to jump out early again... we could use our crowd and kill their belief early.

Our blueliners didn't pinch to support the play anywhere near as much as they did in the first 2 games either, and I felt this made a huge difference in terms of us being able to maintain posession in their end for extended periods of time. We just need to get that aggressive edge back and we'll be fine.

I agree 110% with Cole though in regards to the Pens needing to set the tone early on. If they come out flying and go right at the Flyers, then it'll only boost our chances significantly.

Top Notch GDT mate...Top *** Notch!

Loved the video section. The Pens highlight video, it squares off vs the Top 10 Best Pens ever vid, is fantastic. I like that it doesn't use Song 2 or something else like, they have their place, but instead uses slower music to let you enjoy what your watching instead.

None the less let's get it going at home and end this.

With Gill getting burned on the outside repeatedly and not at all confident right now, would you risk foregoing some physicality by replacing him with Boucher as a 3rd pairing guy?
